You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 781

Hector just stood there, caught off guard by the angry outburst.

After a moment, he clicked his tongue and shook his head. “You’re really hopeless, Mr. Padilla.”

“Pattie’s still young. If you’re already this out of it, what’s she supposed to do?”

Oliver let out a deep sigh and rubbed his eyes, but he couldn’t shake the irritation.

Hector kept peeling his banana, unbothered. “When your brother showed up today, I figured he’d at least try to talk some sense into you two. Instead, he just popped in, checked you were still alive, and left. Honestly, with a temper like yours, it’s no wonder your family’s given up trying to fix you.”

“Life’s a long road, and couples are bound to argue sometimes. Usually, there’s family around to help smooth things over. But you, my friend, have worn everyone out. No one wants to play mediator anymore.”

“If you keep this up, always fighting with Pattie and no one left to help you make up, who knows if you two will actually last.”

Hector had been out all day and was starving. Two bananas barely made a dent, so he grabbed his phone to order some takeout.

“I’m honestly done lecturing you. Ever since you got married, I’ve been run ragged. You ditch work whenever you want, and I just let it slide. But every time you and Patricia fight, I have to talk her down, then turn around and deal with you. I swear, I’m burning out all my brain cells on you two. At this rate, I’ll never even get the chance to get married myself.”

Oliver looked over and said, “I thought you didn’t want to get married anyway.”

“I don’t, but that doesn’t mean I want to spend my whole life cleaning up your messes. I’m single, not suicidal.”

Once his food was ordered, Hector sprawled out on the couch, finally relaxing. Just then, the PR team sent over a draft for him to review. He glanced at it, gave a quick nod, and said it was good to go.
