You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 743

Even after all those years out in the remote northwest, she never gave up on living life well. She always thought, no matter how small the house is, it’s still your own. You might spend two or three years there, maybe even ten or twenty, but honestly, how many sets of two or ten years do you really get in a lifetime? Every single day counts.

They weren’t supposed to come back to Cloud Peak for dinner, so Marian hadn’t prepared anything. When they walked in unexpectedly, she was the one who looked the most flustered.

She was about to head off to the kitchen when Patricia called out, “Just make something for Oliver. I’ll order takeout.”

Mr. Padilla paused, coat halfway to the rack, and asked, “What are you getting?”

“Sara told me there’s a new noodle place nearby. I want to try it.”

Oliver stood there, staring at Patricia. He looked like he was still trying to figure out what a noodle place even was.

Johns and Marian stood off to the side, both feeling awkward as the room suddenly went quiet.

Marian jumped in, trying to smooth things over. “Noodles, huh? Takeout is never as clean as a home-cooked meal. Let me just make something for you instead.”

Her soft words made Patricia stop for a second, realizing Marian was just trying to lighten the mood. Patricia’s smile faded, and she was about to say something when Oliver handed his coat to Johns and came over to help her out of hers.

“If you want to try it, then let’s try it. Order two. I’ll have some too. I want to see what’s so special that you’re craving it.”

Patricia let him slip her coat off. “You probably won’t like it. It’s really spicy.”

“No mild option?”

“Sara said the mild one isn’t good.”
