“Roger, Roger!” Sara ran upstairs and yanked the book right out of his hands. She stared at him, eyes wide and frustrated. “What are we supposed to do about Uncle Oliver and Aunt Patricia? They’re not really going to start ignoring each other, are they?”

“You’re overthinking it,” Roger said. “There are some international companies visiting Riverdale today. Uncle Oliver’s still dealing with that.”

“And besides, Uncle Oliver isn’t the type to give Aunt Patricia the silent treatment.”

Sara frowned. “How do you know he’s still working?”

Roger flipped his phone over so she could see. Riverdale’s local news was playing, and there was Oliver on the screen in a perfectly tailored suit, chatting confidently with some foreign businessmen. He looked so good that even the city officials standing next to him seemed to fade into the background.

Sara had always had a thing for good-looking guys, especially ones like Oliver. Sure, she’d grumbled about him plenty of times behind his back, but she’d never called him ugly. She couldn’t. Every other complaint had at least some truth to it, but calling him unattractive just felt forced and petty, like a villain’s last, desperate insult.

“Uncle Oliver is just… stupidly handsome,” she muttered.

Roger glanced at her over his glasses. “What, not enough drama lately? Now you’re admiring him?”

Sara made a face. “Gross. Don’t make it weird.”

“Did Uncle Oliver say when he’d be home?”
