You Are Mine Little Sister (by Syra Tucker) novel Chapter 206

I sucked a deep breath in.

"I used to bind your wrists with this and do whatever I liked. Not that I really needed a belt to control you, though. You've always been willing enough to do my bid."

A sour burn climbed my throat. "I wasn't always willing. You just made me scared enough."

"Well, that's the point." The corner of his mouth lifted in the faintest's smile; more a fracture than warmth.

He turned toward the drawer. "But my favorite has always been the leash."

I saw it coming, even before he opened the drawer. The moment he pulled the collar free, my stomach dropped straight through the floor.

Holy Christ.

I took two steps back. He didn't mind me; just continued staring at the collar like some pretty tool.

"I'd lock it around your throat and you'd automatically become my dog. It took your voice, your defiance, your right to choose. The only choices you ever had were the ones I allowed." A smile crossed his face as he locked eyes with me. "Obedient Rali had always been my favorite."

When he started moving toward me, I backed away again.

"Stop moving, Rali," he ground out.

It hit me then: he was trying to reclaim control.

No. I couldn't give him that leash again.

I continued moving back until the familiar thing happened; I hit the wall.

I gasped and quickly tried to slip sideways, but he was already there, trapping me before I could think.

Placing one hand above me, he brought his nose down to my neck and inhaled, like a wolf familiarizing itself with its prey.

It got so hard to breathe with him so close. "Void..." His name cracked apart on my tongue.

"Choose," he said quietly. "Which one do you prefer, Rali?"

My eyes dropped to the belt, then the collar. He was forcing a decision.

"N—None."

"Tsk tsk," he clicked his tongue. "Don't think I'm holding something called 'none'."

Closing my eyes, I managed to pull a deep steadying breath. "Void, I—I don't want this. I really need a break."

He tilted his head slightly, inspecting me with genuine confusion.

"I've never heard of a tool named 'break'," he said seriously

"Void—"

"Why don't you stop asking for things that do not exist and chose from the options we have? If it'll comfort you, I can check for ‘none' and ‘break' the next time I restock my collection."

I huffed in frustration. So this was it. He was going to keep playing with me, skirting every plea like it was a joke he enjoyed too much to end.

He took one step back only to lift the belt and collar between us. His eyes were in them when he spoke.

"I think I have a better option."
