Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 69

“Young Master Moore… Please be the judge of this.” Cindy reacted almost immediately. She approached him with teary eyes and a distressed expression.

She wanted to hold his arm, but she stopped in front of him and dared not take one more step toward him after seeing the stern expression on his tense face.

She was not bold enough to look him in the eye. It was as if this man had the power to look right through her and expose her lies.

Her pitiful expression made it more believable that she was innocent.

As expected, all of the customers took her side and stared at Monique with disgust.

“That mistress should just stay in her quarters and not embarrass herself out here.”

“What a shameless woman.”

Henry fiercely glared at those who made offensive remarks. They could feel the pressure under his gaze; all of them shut their mouth right away.

The silence was deafening.

His features made him seem aloof, and his dark brown eyes had an icy glare.

Monique was stunned when she saw him enter the cafe. His presence was a godsend. She was overwhelmed with a turmoil of emotions.

Why was he here? Did he not trust her?

There were no expressions on his charming face.

“Why are you here?” Monique could not help but ask.

“I’m here to take you back. You wandered off during working hours.” Henry’s low, magnetic voice carried a flirtatious and seductive tone.

Monique scoffed and gave an icy glare, “Why. Scared?”

Sacha glanced toward Cindy’s and saw her struggling to stay calm while she gestured to him by shaking her head when no one was looking. He immediately understood what happened.

He was very close to Cindy and he still held a grudge against Monique as she fought with him over several hundred bucks. Of course he would choose to protect Cindy.

“Not anyone can just barge in and request to look at our surveillance footage,” Sacha said righteously.

Monique frowned and looked at Henry, begging. His profile looked so sharp and attractive.

Monique felt a sense of relief when she looked at him. She believed that he would help her.

Henry lowered his eyes and retrieved his phone to make a call.
