Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 64

Henry stared at her pretty face--her lashes were thick and long and her eyes so bright as if they contained a universe, he could see the stars shining in them. She smiled so radiantly, like blossoms on a rock: unique and alluring. He just could not resist the urge to tease her.

“I don’t drink ice coffee. This has ice in it,” Henry said in a deep, magnetic voice, his eyes staring at Monique grew even more intense.

Monique’s heart skipped a beat. Her eyes flickered and she blushed instantly. There was a hint of disappointment in her eyes. No ice! She was not aware of that. How embarrassing!

Monique peered at him secretly. He had a stoic expression on his charming face; it was impossible to gauge his mood. He stared at her intensely, his lips pressed together as if he could see right through her.

“Then…you can drink it later,” Monique’s heart was racing, her breath growing uneven. She took a breath and bit her lips, looking anxious.

The way she blushed and peeked at him awkwardly made her look like a child who had made a mistake. Under the chandelier’s illumination, she seemed so naive and innocent.

The corner of Henry’s mouth curved upwards; his deep, brooding eyes and his long lashes made him look especially attractive and sexy.

His legs and his hands were crossed as he stared at her with an intense gaze like he wanted to devour her. He suppressed the urge to laugh and nonchalantly said, “I also don’t take sugar.”

Monique’s heart dropped and her mind went blank. He should just leave it if he did not like it. Why was he being so picky? She only had herself to blame. Why did she buy him coffee for no reason? His reaction was driving her insane.

Gone was the shy look on her face. ‘Forget it then. I didn’t even have the chance to buy myself a drink,’ she thought to herself.

“If you don’t want it…I’ll drink it then…” Monique raised her nose in frustration. She played it cool and stared back at the perfect face in front of her, reaching out to take back the cup of coffee.

When Monique’s hand grabbed the coffee, he instantly grabbed her hand. She jolted at the sudden physical touch. She tried to struggle free, but he held hers tightly and refused to release his grip.

Monique was slightly surprised by his words. Her eyes shimmered. She found his whole act childish, especially since he wanted to drink it in the first place.

Therefore, she played along and retracted her hand from his and bit her lips angrily, “Whatever.”

Angel pouted her pink lips. She could not comprehend why both of them were fighting over a cup of coffee.

Monique turned around and went back to Angel as if she was being chased by a beast. She sat very close to Angel, which gave her a clear view of the office.

“What’s this all about…” Henry slowly took a sip from the cup in an elegant manner, but his brows furrowed very suddenly.
