Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 523

“Did someone come into the office earlier?” Henry asked in a cold tone. His deep voice was cold, like a breeze from the North Pole.

The secretary could not help a cold shiver down her spine. Miss Xander did come when she went for a bathroom break. When the secretary was thinking of a nice way to put it so she would not be scolded, Henry glared at her coldly. The secretary quickly answered, “Miss Xander went into the office earlier. I was in the bathroom and she walked into the room by herself. I only saw her when she came out.”

“Was there anything strange when she came out?” He was shocked.

“She was a little weird when she came out. I called her and she ignored me, but I can assure you that she did not take anything from the office. Her hands were empty.” The secretary almost cried when she said this. The way he looked at her was scary.

Henry was sure that Monique was the one who read the document, and she read the DNA test result as well. Suddenly, he recalled an incident: the image of Monique’s desire to die. Could she be doing something reckless after knowing Angel was his daughter?

‘No way!’ he thought. The man that she loved had not been released from prison yet. He anxiously walked into the office and sat in his chair. His heart felt uneasy. He stood up again right after he sat down. He walked out and ordered Mandy, “Find out where that woman went immediately.”

He pressed the elevator button after that and called Louise.

Louise picked up immediately; the voice from the other end was cold. “Is Monique with you?”

“No, didn’t she go to the office and look for you?” Louise was shocked.

“It seems like Mr. Graham went in the same direction. I think I saw his car stop at a bus station nearby the Grand Shore.”

Henry hung up and called Logan while he drove. His phone was turned off. Nobody picked up. Logan was in the office that morning; what was he doing at the Grand Shore in the afternoon?

Henry could not help it but call Monique. Her phone was turned off too. At this moment, his heart felt even more uneasy and he sped up his car. Logan’s car did stop at the Grand Shore. Henry simply found a space to park the car.

There were many people at the beach that evening. When the ambulance left, the crowd left to their own devices. However, there were people chatting too. Henry walked half the beach and overheard a conversation. “I wonder why they jumped into the sea. The man was handsome, and the woman was quite pretty. They looked perfect for each other, but why did they do such a reckless thing?”
