The police officers stopped them. “We have not investigated this matter. Please do not disturb public administration.” He then stuffed Simon into the police car after he was done speaking.
Simon’s head was buzzing in the police car. He looked out from the car and saw a gorgeous figure standing nearby, and Mandy was standing behind him. Simon finally understood. Someone was secretly making mischief. In order to make him leave B City, he tricked him by unfair means. He stared at him angrily and stretched out his middle finger and made a hateful gesture.
Mandy looked awkward as she saw his gesture. She had already warned him earlier yet he was so stubborn.
Henry stood there casually. His cold, handsome face and straight figure looked arrogant.
His stern look and curved lips showed the pride of his victory. He completely ignored Simon’s move.
He looked at the police car that was being driven far away as his lips resumed to normal and went upstairs.
After the police officers caught Simon, Angel searched through the house but could not find her mother. Furthermore, this place had just been tidied up. It was very clean and there was nothing inside.
“Aunt Louise, where did you hide my mother?” Angel asked Louise.
“I-I did not.” Louise sounded guilty. She thought of something and asked, “Angel, how did you find this place? How did you know I’m here?”
Angel’s mouth twitched. “Let me know where my mommy is then I’ll tell you.”
“Angel, don’t be rude,” a low magnetic voice sounded.
“Daddy, why are you here so soon?” shouted Angel.
Henry nodded and wiped off the tears on Angel’s face. “Angel, don’t mess around next time. Mommy will be angry when she comes back. I’ll ask Aunt Mandy to buy some food for you, then send you back to Mrs. Lawson. Be a good girl. Mommy will call you once her phone battery is recharged.”
Angel nodded. She had to ask her father to help Uncle Simon out. Uncle Simon was caught by the policemen because of her. She looked at Henry with her big bright eyes, “Daddy, can I ask for help?”
“Yes.” Henry nodded before continuing, “Go home first. I’ll listen to you after I get home at night, alright? I have to handle something urgent.”
Angel thought that sneaking out had truly made her father worry for her. Uncle Simon was arrested because of her—she really should not make any other mess.
Her father and mother would be mad at her.
Angel looked at Henry and said, “Well then.”
