Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 422

It was not time to leave work yet, but Monique was nowhere to be found all afternoon. She did not apply for leave and nobody knew where she was. Mr. Walt did not dare question it either.

Amelia felt a tightness in her chest. Why could that woman be so relaxed at work while she had to work her fingers to the bone? She felt it unfair--it was extremely unfair.

Yvonne reached the planning department. Monique was not at her desk, but her computer was still on. Although she was not very fond of Amelia, she was the only one that she could ask. “Hi, do you know where Monique is?”

“She’s the chairman’s girlfriend, and she can come and go as she pleases. How would I know where she is?” Amelia frowned, sulky.

‘She comes and goes as she pleases? She did not come back to the office in the afternoon?’

“She didn’t come back in the afternoon?” Yvonne could only be nice to her, since she was asking for help, even though she knew Amelia did not like Monique either. The enemy of her enemy was her friend.

Amelia ignored her; she was annoyed at the moment.

Yvonne smiled and took a bracelet off her wrist. “Miss Amelia, you have such pretty hands. I’m sure this bracelet will look good on you.”

Amelia raised her head and glanced at the bracelet Yvonne was holding. Crystal clear and translucent, it looked beautiful. She had a grin on her face as she took the bracelet. “Oh, you don’t have to do that. Monique did come back, but I’ve no idea when she left. She wasn’t at her desk when I came back from the pantry.”

Yvonne smiled. “To be honest, my relationship with Monique is terrible. You might’ve heard it. After she seduced the chairman, she ignored me.”

“She’s a materialistic woman; it’s only a matter of time for the chairman to dump her,” Amelia said, scornfully.

“You have the exact thoughts as I do.” Yvonne’s eyes sparkled like she had met her best friend.

Amelia nodded with agreement.

“Promise you won’t tell anyone else?” Yvonne frowned.

“Of course.” Amelia smiled.

Yvonne sent her the pictures after they exchanged Whatsapp numbers. Then, she left the planning department, chuckling to herself.

“Fool.” Her lips lifted with a mocking smile. She sorted out a few photos, and the angles in each of them were perfect, clearly showing a close relationship between Monique and Simon. It was hard to disbelieve.

Amelia looked at the handsome man in the photo; even though he was not as good-looking as the chairman, he still looked attractive and full of youthful vigor. He and Monique were looking at each other. He was smiling as warm as the sun, while she smiled sweetly. They looked like a great match. Why were all the good men attracted to Monique?

Her smile was filled with contempt. She never thought the meek and quiet Monique was actually a b*tch who fawned over the chairman while she seduced another man.
