Simon waved at Angel with a smile. "Goodbye Angel, have a safe journey home."
Simon's smile was gentle and warm, but to Henry, it was intimidating.
Henry was hurt to see Angel have a close relationship with Simon. 'Monique had planned ahead to leave my side.'
Henry thought that Monique was scheming to send Angel to the kindergarten so that Angel would develop a better relationship with Simon, and when the time for her to leave Moore manor had arrived, she would be able to leave Henry and live a happy life with Angel and Simon. 'In your dreams!'
Fury burned within Henry; he had the urge to give Simon a piece of his mind, but after realizing Angel was with him, Henry dropped the idea.
Henry suppressed his anger as he glanced at Angel.
Angel was still too young to notice the minor changes in Henry's expression. Angel figured that her mother would be waiting for her in the car. She sprinted to the car anxiously because earlier that morning, they both promised to come to pick her up together.
Unfortunately, the joyful Angel entered the car only to find out her anticipation was fruitless.
"Where's Mommy?" Angel searched the car’s interior high and low, even looking around the car. Her mother was nowhere to be seen. Angel's big, glittering eyes immediately turned red.
'Didn't you all promise to come to pick me up?
'How come you all keep breaking promises?’
Henry scratched his head when he saw Angel's reddened eyes. "Mommy’s rather busy today. She'll definitely come to pick you up next time."
'It’s always this lame excuse.
'Last time, Daddy was busy, and today is Mommy's turn to be busy.
Henry offered her a tissue to clean herself up.
Henry felt a pinch in his heart, helpless as he watched Angel, who had always been very obedient, suddenly burst into sobbing. Nonetheless, Henry would never bring Angel over to the company and let her see her mother in that state.
Henry could only comfort Angel. "Be a good girl, Angel. Once we go home, I'll have Mrs. Lawson cook some delicious food for you, alright?"
"I don't want that! I want Mommy!" Angel felt very insecure when she could not see her mother at that moment.
She really wanted to see her mother.
'Daddy won’t let me look for Mommy and won’t even let me call her. Did something happen to Mommy?'
Angel started to feel uneasy thinking about it.
