Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 409

Monique's provoking smile was different from when she was smiling at Simon: a rather intimate and sweet smile.

Henry could no longer suppress his anger as he buried his face and started kissing Monique madly.

A surge of intense pain rose from bottom to top, reminding Monique of her foolish past.

Monique could no longer struggle. She clenched her teeth, trying not to make a sound.

Soon, Monique slowly started losing consciousness. She suddenly thought of Angel and of attempting to explain to Henry, but it seemed like Henry was not willing to believe her. Would he believe her if she explained?

Monique made up her mind, determined that Henry would never listen to her. 'Would he believe if I explained? Never.'

In her mind, Monique thought that any further explanation would only make Henry continue to insult her and all the words of humiliation would just accumulate and make her feel even worse.

She had been trying her best to get a closer understanding of Henry, but whenever she did, she would end up being hurt, and it just worse every single time.

Henry, on the other hand, stared at her with his bloodlusting gaze, still waiting for Monique to admit her wrongs and beg.

Mandy was waiting anxiously in the secretary’s room, on standby to dash into the chairman’s office as soon as the phone in his office rang.

Monique had been in the office for quite some time and the phone did not ring at all.

Mandy could no longer wait. She sneaked into the chairman’s office, but there was no sound from within.

She had looked up the guy that the chairman requested and found out he was the principal of the Starry Kindergarten and used to be Monique's ex-class monitor. Besides that, while the chairman was outstation, they both had met each other for a meal.

The chairman was likely jealous, judging from his infuriated expression.

The chairman was a proud man. He would not allow anyone to betray him.

Even though Mandy had seen the chairman angry on countless occasions, she had never seen him this mad before.

'What if Miss Xander calmed him down?'

However, Mandy dropped that idea very soon as she entered the dressing room, which had a break room that was well-equipped with all sorts of facilities.

Mandy lingered at the doorstep for some time, but did not manage to hear Miss Xander's voice.

Mandy took a long, deep breath and knocked on the door.

After some time, the sound of the door being knocked on was heard.

Monique, with sheer willpower, forced herself to open her eyes, but very soon, she closed her eyes and passed out, tears streaming down the corners of her eyes.

The knocking made Henry regain his senses. Facing the woman before him that had passed out, Henry felt deeply hurt at the fact that Monique was so disgusted at herself.

She would rather suffer the pain than beg him.
