Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 382

”You want to come with us?” Monique was surprised.

‘Well hurry up then!’ she thought.

Angel danced happily and ran to Henry’s side. She climbed up the chair beside him and said, “I love you, Daddy!” She then gave Henry a kiss on the cheek.

Henry stroked the little girl’s cheek and said, “Wait for me, okay?”

“Okay.” Angel blinked and nodded.

She was happy that her parents wanted to send her to school together.

Very happy.

She wanted to show her parents off to the children at school. They would be jealous of her, especially that chubby kid who came from a rich family.

Mrs. Lawson felt the love in the interaction between Henry and Angel. She was happy for her master.

On the other hand, Monique was processing a bunch of conflicting emotions. Her dream and reality were overlapping. Although Henry treated Angel well and Angel liked the man, Monique could not shake off the idea that it was weird for them to bond when they did not have a blood relation.

She massaged her temple.

Was she being jealous?

Angel was a child and she only pecked his cheek.

No, it was not that. Monique was worried her daughter would fall too deep.

She was worried that the parting would hurt too much.

Monique realized the pot was calling the kettle black.

She abandoned that worry in favor of the one right before her.

She was going to be late for work!

The happiness on Angel’s face made it impossible to reject Henry’s offer. She urged the man, “Please hurry up!”

He wondered how she would be like when she was old.

Henry drank his milk and took a bite of the sandwich. He chewed thoroughly.

On the opposite spectrum, Monique swallowed the toast as quickly as she could.

“Come on! I’m done here,” she spoke with her mouth full.

Henry rolled his eyes and swallowed the contents in his mouth. He grabbed a napkin and wiped his mouth as he said, “Let’s go.”

He was done?

There was still half a glass of milk and a big part of the sandwich was untouched.

Monique stared at the man. His tall and muscular frame suggested he would need more than a few bites of sandwich to fill his stomach.

Henry was used to eating slowly and elegantly. Maybe her pestering affected his appetite.
