Her face was pale and her brows frowned.
Monique felt anxious as Miss Sophia made her way to her.
Along the way to the kindergarten, Monique had thought of various possibilities, but Angel was a very obedient girl. She did not look like the type who would get involved in a fight.
'Why would she fight another kid?'
Angel heard her mother's voice and turned around excitedly. "Mommy!"
Angel dashed to her mother on her tiny legs, as though her savior had appeared.
Monique knelt and carried Angel as she started questioning her daughter. "Can you tell me what happened?"
Angel pouted, her little finger pointing in the direction of the chubby little boy as she said, aggrieved, "He snatched my handphone!"
"Are you Angel's mother?" came a rough voice as soon as Angel finished. "Who snatched your phone? Kole, come here to Grandma."
The little boy, who was standing inside the classroom, walked out with his big tummy. "Give me the handphone. I wanna play with it."
"Never! This handphone is mine." Angel lifted her head, her big, dark eyes staring at the little boy, who was almost twice Angel’s size without showing any signs of timidity.
The chubby little boy burst into tears. "I want to play, I want to play. It’s mine! Not yours. Waa…”
Mrs. Whitman glared at the woman in front of her, infuriated when she saw her beloved grandson crying.
Monique looked at Angel carefully. Angel's fair and pinkish face darkened, her beautiful little brows frowning as her glittering black eyes stared at the crone. Monique coldly said, "Give me back the handphone, or I'm going to report this to the police."
Monique had faith in Angel. She believed Angel would not steal someone’s handphone. There had to be some misunderstanding. She suppressed her temper, "Say, ma’am, I don’t think it's appropriate for you to just snatch my daughter's handphone without clarifying what actually happened."
Mrs. Whitman felt uneasy under Angel’s ferocious glare. She then started roaring, "The youth these days have absolutely no manners. Of course, she’s a little thief. How did your mother raise you?"

Miss Sophia showed up and said with a gentle tone, "Mrs. Whitman, please refrain from making false assumptions before we understand the situation."
Miss Christine appeared as well. "That's right, let's ask before jumping to conclusions."
