Henry looked at Little Nomi before placing some food in her bowl. His lips curved into a beautiful grin as he said, “Little Nomi, eat this.”
Little Nomi smiled at Henry with her big, lively eyes and started eating. The food tasted so good, it was so much better than what she had in restaurants.
They seemed so loving with each other that it looked like they were father and daughter for years.
Monique was shocked. Was this the same man who threatened her in the morning!
Nonetheless, she decided to speak her mind since he seemed happy right now.
“Can I continue taking orders from Stormchase whenever you’re not using the car?” Monique said to Henry with a smile. She had an eager look on her face as she added, “I want to earn more money to pay my debt.”
“Sure,” Henry replied with a smile.
Monique was pleasantly stunned. She blinked in disbelief. Was that it? That was easy! She had been anxious about this the entire day.
This man was pretty decent when he acted normally. Not only did he provide good food, he also allowed them to live in a mansion. On top of that, now that he agreed to let her work on the side, Little Nomi would not have to suffer with her for some time.
After dinner, Monique showered Little Nomi and put her to bed. The day had felt like a long dream and they were both exhausted.
Little Nomi slept on Monique’s hand, which she used to hug Little Nomi in her arms. This was a rare family time for her; she had always been busy and barely spent quality time with Little Nomi. Monique eventually fell asleep as well.
“Miss Xander, Miss Xander!”
Someone woke Monique up. She opened her eyes slowly to find Aunt Cobie talking to her.
“Is there a problem, Aunt Cobie?” Monique got up and rubbed her eyes.
“You fell asleep here, why don’t you go back to your room?”
His black and charming eyes gleamed like a wolf.
Monique panicked. She stood there without stepping forward nor backing up. Her face was burning.
She knew that he was up to no good after what happened tonight. Could it be that he wanted her to sleep with him?
“I… I’m not coming…” Monique said after some time.
If she approached the man in front of her, she would be eaten alive before even getting near him.
Her stuttering look was still breathtakingly beautiful.
“Call the police then,” Henry scoffed. The corner of his lips curved into an arrogant grin.
