Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 267

Monique dialed the only number she could remember, which was Henry’s. After the call went through, it only rang twice before she got cut off.

She called him again and the same thing happened.

Monique frowned. ‘Henry Moore, you bastard! Pick up the phone!’

He must be doing this deliberately.

How could he do this after confiscating her bag and phone? Oh… he did give her a new phone but she left it in the car. Anyway, it was Henry’s fault that she had gotten into such a mess.

‘Hmph, this weasel!’

‘Bastard!’

No matter how much Monique swore internally, she still could not get through to him. In the end, it seemed like he blocked the number as her call went straight into voicemail.

Angel was worried when she saw Monique frown. “What is it? Daddy didn’t pick up the phone?” Monique nodded helplessly. “Yeah, he didn’t.”

Miss Sophia saw the deep frown on Monique’s face and asked, “Angel’s mom, is there a problem?”

“Mommy forgot to bring her purse and phone out. We can’t go home,” Angel pouted and said in a childlike voice.

“Oh, I have some cash with me. I’ll go get it,” Miss Sophia said with a smile.

Miss Sophia was a young lady. She had pretty features and her smile was warm and friendly.

“That’s worse. You shouldn’t lend money to someone you barely know,” Mrs. Whitman advised.

Monique overheard their conversation since they were standing not too far away from her. She also thought that it might not leave a good impression by borrowing money from Angel’s teacher on her first day of school.

Who knew how the other teachers and students would see Angel in the future?

Miss Sophia turned around and saw Monique standing there sheepishly like a helpless child. She put on a warm smile and looked at her tenderly as though she was trying to comfort Monique. “Angel’s mom, just hold on a second. I’ll go get the money. I’ll be quick.”

Monique knew that Miss Sophia was very kind to offer her help, but she still felt that it was inappropriate. She did not want others to view Angel differently. She crouched down and said, “Angel, let’s go home, shall we? You walk in front, mommy will chase after you, okay?”

Angel could feel her tummy growling. She nodded her head and replied, “Okay.”
