Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 24

“I’ll get lost, I’ll get lost, I’ll get lost, I’ll get lost right away…” Cindy was terrified.

The man’s fit body emitted a frosty aura. His dark eyes seemed like two cold, bottomless pools that could swallow people whole, leaving no residue.

Cindy could not think. She was so terrified that she fell on the ground. She wanted to get lost, but her limbs were so weak that she could not move. The CEO was a little too scary.

He had been telling her to get lost every time he saw her.

“Mandy, get in here,” Henry growled.

Mandy heard him immediately. She was standing by the door and did not dare to go in. The CEO was mad.

“Drag this b*tch out.” His voice was deep, magnetic, and cold. “Bunch of idiots, letting just about anyone in.”

“Okay.” Mandy did not dare to cause any delays. She called for two security guards to drag Cindy out of there.

She was afraid that she might become collateral damage if she wasted another second.

Henry had estimated that it was about time Monique delivered the coffee, but he ended up seeing a disgusting woman with heavy makeup instead. It was repulsive.

The woman said she was coming over to return the top today. Did she break her promise again?

If she dared to do so, she must be ready for the consequences she would face!

Monique did not know what was going on while being on the first floor. She chatted with Louise for a while before realizing that Cindy went upstairs without her. She did not know what Cindy was rushing for.

Monique had no choice but to carry the dozen coffee cups herself. It would not be nice if she was accused of under-delivering the order.

“Are you seeking death? How could you sneak into the CEO’s office?” Mandy was really pissed. The coming days would be excruciating for them all if the CEO was maddened.

Monique found a group of secretaries and security guards talking to each other the moment she stepped out of the lift. They all looked pissed but Monique did not know who they were angry at.

At this moment, Cindy recovered slightly after getting away from Henry. Her eye caught Monique who had just arrived. She squinted and her eyes were immediately watery. She pointed toward the lift and began crying. “It’s her, she set me up, she asked me to send the coffee in to the CEO. Since there was no one at the front desk, I walked in right away, I didn’t mean to.”

“Sobs…” her fragile look was convincing at the moment. The security guards nearly bought it.

Everyone looked in the direction of Cindy’s finger and saw Monique standing there in confusion.

What? When did she tell Cindy to come up here? She was being blamed by someone who was rushing to seduce a man but ended up getting kicked out.

Monique was stunned for a moment and pursed her lips. Although she thought that no one would believe her, she still defended herself instinctively saying, “I didn’t do it.”

“Miss Xander, I believe you.” Mandy smiled at Monique courteously after spotting her. She bowed before Monique and said respectfully, “The CEO is inside, please go ahead.”

This woman might be their saving grace. The CEO had been waiting for her for some time and he ordered them to let this woman in since yesterday. This was a first.

Monique felt flattered all of a sudden. This woman believed her right away without asking any questions. Monique felt warmth in her heart.

“Thank you.” Monique smiled thankfully. Her clear, almond-shaped eyes looked like the purest diamonds. They were clean and innocent.

Monique put the coffee down on the front desk and walked in with the top.

Who was this woman? It was incomprehensible that the CEO asked for someone who dressed this averagely. Everyone was stunned and in awe.

The crowd eventually dispersed itself and Cindy was left sitting on the floor in a mess. Her tears ruined her makeup and she looked uglier than ever. Her look was a joke at the moment.

What she still could not accept was that the toilet-cleaning woman actually managed to seduce a rich man.

Cindy was chased out of there every time she went in. It could have been anyone else, why was it Monique—a toilet-cleaning single mother?

Cindy could not believe her eyes as she watched Monique walk into the CEO’s office. She thought that Monique would be chased out as well.

Monique began feeling anxious as she walked into Henry’s office, she thought about how she was forcefully kissed the day before. Last night, he threatened that ‘the game’ would be continued if she did not come over to return the top. It was terrifying!

“You… You… How expensive could this be, I’ll pay!” Monique took a step back and gritted her teeth while leaning on the desk. It was just a top, she’ll pay for it!

The top did go out of shape in her hands. Monique was heartbroken; it must cost at least a few hundred bucks for such a good top. It was motherf*cking painful for her. How unlucky of her!

She made a mental note to avoid this bastard at all costs after this.

Nonetheless, she owned up to her mistake. She was heartbroken thinking about how she held herself back from having dessert, but she had to pay for this top now. Meanwhile, Henry’s lips curved and grinned mysteriously.

Monique had chills looking at that sinister smile.

“Mandy, bring the proof and receipt for the top this woman wore the day before,” Henry called the front desk.

Mandy brought the receipt in moments later before leaving in a bow.

Henry did not even bother looking at it. He threw it at Monique in a handsome and elegant manner.

Monique’s hand shivered as she read the receipt... She could not believe her eyes! She shut her eyes and opened them again to count the string of zeros on the receipt. The top that she assumed was ordinary and decently priced was actually made by Emma, the famous designer hailed as a genius internationally. It was one in a million as well; it cost over 500 thousand bucks per piece!

Over 500 thousand bucks for a top!

Monique was terrified. It was an unimaginable figure for her; she might not even get to make that much money her whole life.

“When are you paying me back?” Henry looked at Monique with interest. Her pale face was turning green and white.

“I can’t afford this, I don’t have the money, there’s no use of you forcing me to do so.” Monique was freaking out, but she still seemed like she was putting up a brave front.

“I know you don’t have the money.” Henry curved his lips watching the helpless woman in front of him. She no longer looked like she was trying to be strong; she seemed like a depleted ball standing there helplessly. Henry felt the urge to protect her.

“I’ll give you a chance to pay me back by being my full-time driver,” Henry said nonchalantly, but his tone made it seem like he was a king bestowing a gift on her.
