When he thought that she would have finally been his after writing down the amount, he continued to stare at her with raised brows.
Monique sat down elegantly and placed the checkbook on the table. She held the pen with her slender fingers, neatly trimmed nails and wrote the numbers with her pretty handwriting.
She lifted her head after she had finished writing the check. The sun rays shone on her bare face without makeup, having given it a natural glow like a flawless gem.
She saw him staring at her possessively, “Aren’t you curious how much I wrote?”
He curled his lips and said, “I’ve told you that you can write any amount you want!”
Monique smiled faintly, her gaze towards him darkened, “You asked what I wanted just now. I’ll give you an answer now.”
“Uhm, go on.” The anger in his eyes dissipated.
If she had been willing to be with him, he could have given her as much money as she wanted.
Monique had already expected that he would have ridiculed her.
She threw the check at him in disdain, “Here’s 10 million bucks, 5 hundred thousand to repay the money that I owed you and to buy your coat. You can take the rest as a compensation for staying at your place. I don’t owe you anything from now on.”
Monique tried her best to have listed everything out, not wanting to have missed out on a single detail.
She wanted to leave. She did not want to be his plaything.
Henry had been stunned for a while and stared at her with an icy glare.
Other women could not have waited to throw themselves at him, yet she tried means and ways to leave him. How dared she used his money to have repaid her debts? What a joke! That was ridiculous!
Monique curled up into a ball and wrapped her arms around her knees, “What do I want?”
“I don’t want to be imprisoned by you. I want my freedom,” she said helplessly.
Henry grabbed Monique by her chin and forced her to look at him. He smirked, “Freedom? What can you give me in exchange for your freedom?”
He had hit a sore spot of hers.
Her eyes were filled with tears when she looked at him.
She had no idea how alluring she looked at this moment.
A flicker of light flashed across Henry’s eyes. The woman right in front of him looked as pure as an angel, having triggered a strong desire to have protected her.
