Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 179

Zephyrus’s expression soured when he saw Siobhan and Yvonne’s arrival. “Why are you here?”

Siobhan put on a smile and said, “We’re here to visit Monique, silly. How is she?”

Zephyrus huffed. “Don’t lie to me, woman.”

The smile on Siobhan’s face froze. “I was in a bad mood before. I’ll apologize to her later.”

Zephyrus studied the mother and daughter with suspicion. Siobhan maintained her cordial smile, while Yvonne’s eyes were busy checking out the inside of the hospital room. The tug at her shirt brought Yvonne’s attention back to the conversation at hand and she immediately put on her best pout. “Daddy, I’ve learned my lesson.”

Pleased with their repentance, Zephyrus gave them an update. “Monique is still unconscious. Why don’t you two head home first? We don’t want to disturb her rest.”

“But we’re already here. Let us have a look.” Siobhan pressed on, unwilling to budge.

The imperious man from the house walked out and commanded, “Get lost.”

His order brooked no dissent.

Siobhan and Yvonne could not bring themselves to argue.

Zephyrus gestured for them to leave. The two women left the area. At the last second, Yvonne turned around only to catch a glimpse of the gorgeous man’s silhouette.

Even his silhouette was breathtaking.

When they were outside the hospital, Yvonne spat. “How did Monique even manage to catch the attention of someone like that?”

Yvonne considered the fact.

Siobhan carried on with her explanation. “She’s a pretty girl, but men move on quickly. Sooner or later, Monique will just be another used toy. Then, you’ll have your chance.”

A plan formulated in Yvonne’s mind. She would get to know the man and steal him from Monique. She hugged her mother and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you.”

In the hospital, Henry watched Angel cling onto her mother’s hand. He spoke in an unnaturally soft voice, “Angel, why don’t you head home to rest?”

“No. I want to stay here with Mommy.” Angel’s eyes did not stray from the figure lying on the hospital bed.

Henry could see the concern in Angel’s eyes, but he did not want her to stay in the hospital for too long. He was worried she would get sick. “Be good, Angel. You wouldn’t want to worry you mother.”
