Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 151

“Ah!” Monique shouted. Her beautiful brows furrowed as she felt pain from the burn.

“What happened, mommy?” Angel raised her head, looking concerned. She looked at half-bitten pierogi Monique spitted out, shook her head, and sighed, “Mommy, be careful when you eat. I’m not going to snatch your food.”

Mrs. Lawson laughed out loud. Monique looked abashed, as Mrs. Lawson said, “That’s right. Eat slowly. There’s more in the steamer.”

Monique agreed softly. Her face turned red and thought to herself, ‘How can I finish so many of these. I’m not a pig.’

“Mommy, are we really going back to uncle’s house?” asked Angel. Her little eyes were filled with confusion. Why did they have to go back when that aunt and the other lady did not seem to like her. She did not wish to go back.

“Um. Uncle called and asked me to go back and stay home for a few days,” Monique said softly, “How did you know? I haven’t told you.”

“Daddy told me,” Angel said. “He even asked Mrs. Lawson to prepare a lot of stuff.”

“Huh?” Monique thought she heard wrong.

“Yes. Young Master is truly treating you well. This is the first time Young Master treats a girl so whole-heartedly,” Mrs. Lawson said happily. “Monique, how many people are in your house? Let me see if I’ve prepared enough.”

“You don’t have to, Mrs. Lawson. I’m just going to my uncle’s house,” Monique said.

“What about your parents?” Mrs. Lawson did not know Monique’s family and was just asking out of concern.

Monique was stunned and did not know how to answer. Her beautiful brown eyes instantly dimmed as her little face turned pale.

Mrs. Lawson was taken aback, then she understood immediately and said gently, “I’ll go ahead and take a plate of pierogies out for it to cool down. Eat slowly. Young Master has asked Carl to send you back. Don't panic.”

“They died.” A low voice sounded as Mrs. Lawson was about to turn around.

Monique brought the clothes she packed last night and went on the car. Mrs. Lawson stood at the door and asked her to be careful when she was outside, to wear her clothes tight, and to take good care of herself.

Monique promised to do so.

She looked at the passing scenery outside and held Angel in her arms. That day was a miracle. Did she have a mother as of then?

As she thought of Mrs. Lawson, her mind was also associated with Henry. She knew Mrs. Lawson because of Henry. However, she became irritated as she thought of him.

That playboy seemed to have fallen in love. However, the way he treated her last night was as if there were no feelings at all. He threw her into the water and humiliated her, then humiliated her in the bed. He only wanted to take possession of her and tease her—that was not love.

Monique got more irritated as she thought about it. She forced herself to close her eyes and rest. She did not want to think of those annoying matters anymore.

She did not rest well last night so she fell asleep in the car.
