Chapter 20: Ex-Wife
Jasmine's POV
After the meeting, I wasn't expecting to see him. I saw that he was surprised to see me but I had no intention of greeting him. My blood only boiled when I saw him.
“ Honey! You're here.” Stacy wrapped her hand around his arm. He didn't move nor say a word.
“ I let out a heavy sigh and just bowed, and I was about to walk out when he talked. His face was as cold as ice before. I knew he wasn't expecting that I would be here. Who would? They thought I was dead! But they were wrong.
“ You're alive” he uttered, which made me laugh sarcastically in my mind. I looked at him and just smiled a bit.
“ I'm sorry, Mr. And Mrs. White, but I still have an urgent meeting today. Now if you'd excuse me-” Stacy cut me off.
“ Of course, you can go,” she said in a serious voice. She looked to Travis, who was now thinking about unnecessary things.
I hurried to my car and rested my back on the seat. Then I drove out of their house.
Does that mean Stacy only knew that I was some kind of golddigger? She's acting like I wasn't a threat at all. Does that mean he doesn't know that Travis had an ex-wife? I laughed sarcastically.
Nothing changes about him, he's still Travis who is ruthless and merciless!
When I got home I saw Diego cooking. I went In Front of him to confront him.
“ Why didn't you tell me?!” My voice raised and he wasn't expecting that. But then, as she saw my expression, he already knew what I meant.
“ Jaz, look. I'm sorry, okay? I didn't know that it was your ex-husband's wedding,” he started to explain. How could he not know?!
“ What?! You knew I was avoiding him but why?” I place the bag on the table. He knew I was mad.
“ Stacy was the one who approached me, and she never mentioned the wedding. Look, I don't know that Stacy was Travis' bride,” he said, trying to calm me down.
I was just controlling myself when I was in that house! Especially when I saw his face!
“ I'm sorry, I’m just shocked because of what happened earlier. I didn't expect it. From all of the people, why them?” My blood boils every time I recall the way he looks at me.
“ I'm sorry I can't cancel the contract. I already signed it. If I had known about it earlier, I would never have signed that contract, “ he explained to me.
I'm not blaming Diego, it's just that I wasn't ready about what happened.
“ No, I'm sorry. Sorry, I was just surprised. “ I said and smiled at him.
“ It's okay, but if you have one I could take good care of it” he said but I just shook my head. I know he's too busy these coming days.
“ No, I could take good care of it. Besides, I already forgot everything. It's only work,” I said while he gave me a meaningful look.
“ Mom?” I turned around to see David yawning.
“ Did you sleep? “ I asked him and he nodded. I looked at Diego and he went back from cooking.
“ I lost my son, Diego; please help me find him. "His expression changed when he heard what I said. We started to search for him somewhere around this mall but we could find him.
“ Hey, stop crying. We can find him. Search him over there, and I will report it to the mall management. “ He said and left me. I gathered all my strength to look for him, but he was not there.
I decided to look at him on the first floor because he was not there. I sat on the bench and covered my face.
“ Where did you go, David? You're making me scared” I uttered while looking around.
After many minutes of searching we still didn't see him.
I was about to lose hope when I saw someone familiar running towards us, holding an ice cream.
“ Mommy!” He shouted and I ran towards him and hugged him.
“ Where did you go, David?! I told you to not go far away! “ I shouted at him and he was shocked because of what I did.
“ Jasmine,” Diego called me and got David in my hands.
I heard my son start to cry.
“ It's okay, stop crying now” he hushed him.
