Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 468

Facing Sean’s fathomless gaze, Lucas found himself at a complete loss for words. He couldn’t even manage a single protest—before he knew it, he was nodding in agreement, almost involuntarily.

Sean’s lips curled, as if he were smiling, but if you looked closely, his face remained as cold and expressionless as ever.

He tossed the knife at Lucas’s feet. “You do it.”

Lucas’s hands shook as he picked up the knife. He glanced at Yvonne, torn with guilt, but fear kept him rooted in place.

Yvonne’s face twisted with terror. “No, you can’t do this to me! You’re my husband!”

Lucas looked utterly miserable, his voice trembling. “Honey, I don’t want to either, but if I don’t do as Sean says…”

If he dared to disobey, Sean—his own son—wouldn’t hesitate to castrate him. It wouldn’t be the first time, either.

The last time had been the night he brought Yvonne home, just after his wife had passed. Sean had shoved Yvonne down the stairs, causing her to lose their baby, and then, while Lucas slept, the boy had sliced him. The doctors managed to repair the damage, but he was never the same man again.

Sean had been only five at the time. Now, at ten, his cruelty was only more terrifying.

“Sweetheart, losing your tongue is better than losing your life. But if you refuse, you won’t just lose your voice—you’ll lose everything.”

Yvonne shook her head desperately. “We should call the police. Right now. We’re adults—are we really going to let a ten-year-old control us? He doesn’t even have the knife anymore. We can overpower him, easy.”

She was frantic, her voice rising. “Once we’ve got him, we’ll have him committed. He’ll spend the rest of his life in a padded cell.”

Lucas faltered, indecision written all over his face.

Sean let out a cold, mocking laugh.

“I knew you wouldn’t follow orders.”

“No! Please, no!” Yvonne thrashed, but Lucas was stronger. In the end, she couldn’t fight him off. He sliced out her tongue, and her piercing screams filled the house as blood pooled beneath her.

Sean smiled with satisfaction.

“Lucas, you’re as weak and cowardly as ever. Still as gullible, too. I said the gas was on, and you actually believed me?”

He scoffed. “You know how much Claire means to me. Why would I blow myself up just to take you two with me?”

Lucas stared at Sean in horror. “W-what do you mean?”

Sean’s smile only grew colder. “I mean, there’s no gas. But you just cut out Yvonne’s tongue—you’ve committed a crime, dear father. I’d get ready for prison if I were you.”

He was still smiling, but it was the smile of a demon.
