He never would’ve imagined it—Sean, usually so cold and quiet, had only met his sister once, and was already trying to steal her away?
There was no way he’d agree to this marriage!
“My sister doesn’t care about your things. Claire, give it back to him. If you like it, I’ll buy you a new one—”
Before Orion could finish, Claire cut him off.
She blinked her wide, innocent eyes. “But I like it, big brother.”
Orion’s heart shattered all over again.
Claire, I’m your big brother—the one you love most. Are you really going to leave me for Sean Foster, that walking icicle?
Sean ignored Orion’s look of envy and resentment. He took Claire’s small hand in his own. “Come on. Let’s go to my place.”
Claire’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
She’d always been curious about Sean’s home. In her previous life, she never got the chance to visit. Now, finally, the opportunity was here—how could she possibly pass it up?
Maybe she’d even get to see Sean’s grandmother and Grace. She missed them so much.
“Yes, let’s!” Claire agreed eagerly. “Can we go right now?”
York frowned. “Honestly, I don’t get it. There’s actually a girl who likes Sean?”
Zachary shrugged. “What’s so strange about that? That girl from the Chase family is into him too.”
“You mean Cordelia Chase? Please. Sean can’t stand her. She’s nowhere near as adorable as Claire,” York scoffed.
Zachary smirked. “If Cordelia ever saw Sean being this gentle with Claire, I think she’d lose her mind.”
Orion gritted his teeth. “If she dares lay a finger on my sister, I’ll break her hand.”

The Foster Family.
Sean led Claire up the drive to Foster Manor.
The estate rose before them like a grand palace, set behind sweeping lawns that glowed green in the afternoon sun.
He pushed open the door, and Claire’s eyes widened.
The room was spotless—everything in its place, not a speck of clutter to be found.
It was simply furnished, with clean lines and a sense of understated elegance. It looked nothing like a child’s room—more like the sanctuary of an adult man.
But somehow, it suited Sean perfectly.
He sat beside Claire on the bed, and for a moment, just stared at her.
She tilted her head, gazing back at him, as if she could never get enough.
As they looked at each other, Claire inched closer, her eyes shining with mischief and affection.
Sean stiffened, caught off guard by her sudden nearness. He stammered, “Wh-what are you doing?”
In the next instant, Claire leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. Her voice was sweet and gentle. “I like you.”
Boom.
