Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 420

They ignored Ethan completely and walked straight toward the heart of the cemetery.

Stumbling after them, Ethan felt as if his mind were unraveling, refusing to accept what he was about to see.

“No, I’m just overthinking this. There’s no way anything happened to Claire,” he muttered, his voice trembling, edged with despair.

His legs were heavy as lead, every step a struggle as he followed mechanically behind Sean and Amara, whispering again and again, “This can’t be, Claire’s fine, there’s no way…”

The cemetery was eerily silent, broken only by the sound of their footsteps echoing over the stone path.

Sean and Amara finally stopped at a gravestone. Together, they gently placed a bouquet of white lilies at its base, and stood quietly.

“Mom, Dad and I came to see you,” Amara said softly.

Ethan approached, his steps dragging. When he saw the words etched on the headstone—*In Loving Memory of Claire, Beloved Wife*—his entire world shattered in an instant.

“No—!” The scream tore from his throat, raw and desperate. “This isn’t real, you’re lying to me! When I went to prison, Claire was fine—she was fine! How could she be gone…”

Hot tears streamed down his face, his whole body wracked with violent tremors.

Sean watched Ethan’s breakdown, his tone flat. “Today marks the tenth anniversary of Claire’s death.”

Ten years? Claire’s been gone ten years?

That meant… she died not long after he was sent to prison?

Tears streaked his face. “I… I didn’t know, I swear I didn’t know it would turn out like this. I thought…”

The words died in his throat, choked by guilt so thick he could barely breathe.

“You thought what?” Sean sneered. “Whatever you thought, it pushed her straight into hell. She died without ever hearing your apology, without feeling even a shred of warmth from her family.”

Ethan collapsed to the ground, clutching his head in his hands, wishing he could tear himself apart. “Claire, I was wrong. I’m so sorry, so sorry…”

“And now what? Knowing you were wrong changes nothing. Your family destroyed her life.”

At these words, Ethan coughed up a mouthful of blood.
