Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 388

"That’s impossible. I don’t believe it. Claire can’t be dead. Go back in there and save her—go! Save her!" Sean shook his head desperately, refusing to accept the brutal truth.

Jeffry, Liam, Victor, and Normand all stood frozen in place, stunned.

Claire...dead?

How could this be?

Why her?

It just wasn’t fair.

She’d never hurt anyone in her life—hardworking, bright, honest, and kind. Claire was one of those rare good souls. Yet from the moment she was born, her own father abandoned her. She barely survived fifteen years in an orphanage, only to return home and face cruelty, false accusations, and five years behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit.

She finally got out, but life never let up. Again and again, she was targeted, framed, pushed to the very edge—until her life was finally snuffed out.

Weren’t good people supposed to be rewarded? So why did someone like Claire have to die such a miserable death?

Why? Why her?

No one could accept it.

Sean, nearly hysterical, shoved the doctor and screamed, his voice raw, "She promised to marry me! I haven’t even brought her home yet. Save her—just save her!"

Jeffry closed his eyes, unable to bear it. "Sir… Ms. Linwood is gone."

At that, a sharp, wrenching pain tore through Sean’s chest. He doubled over—and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

It was just then that Mandy, finally regaining consciousness, staggered into the hallway and caught Jeffry’s words.

She stopped in her tracks, her gaze locked on the doors to the operating room.

For a long moment, she didn’t move. Then, slowly, she forced herself forward, step by step.

Liam spotted her and reached out. "Mandy…"

But Mandy didn’t hear him. She brushed past, numb, and walked straight into the operating room.

All the suffering Claire endured—the lies, the betrayal, the constant, crushing despair—how could Mandy just stand by and let the ones responsible walk free?

How could she ever forgive?

"Claire, Sophia and Garnett Brown will pay for what they’ve done. I’ll see them dead—and then I’ll join you. Wait for me, okay?"

"Just walk slowly, wait for me on the other side."

"If there’s another life, I swear I’ll find you sooner next time, and I’ll never let anyone hurt you again."

Her voice grew fainter, until it was almost a murmur.

For everything you did for me, I can never repay you.

Don’t blame me, Claire.

Mandy’s gaze remained tender as she looked at Claire, but at the corners of her lips, a hint of something dangerous crept in—a bloodthirsty smile that promised retribution.
