When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 953

While Lemira and Stella discussed the merits of the SUV, Dorian swaggered back over, his fragile ego trying to recover. "I can buy this one for you."

He couldn't afford the multimillion-dollar supercar, but he could certainly swing the cheaper SUV.

Lemira didn't even acknowledge his existence.

Stella, however, shot him a look of pure disdain. "Lemira can afford to buy her own car. She doesn't need your charity."

"It means something different when a man buys a woman a car. What would you know about it?" Dorian snapped, annoyed that Stella was ruining his chance to show off.

Stella crossed her arms. "You sure have a lot of free time to play around here. Isn't your baby due any day now? Shouldn't you be out celebrating your new status as a baby daddy?"

Dorian's face instantly paled. "What the hell are you talking about?"

Lemira finally looked at him. "She's right. Evelina is heavily pregnant. I'd be happy to text you the hospital address so you can go visit her."

Dorian stammered. "...Stop spewing nonsense. That kid belongs to the Langston family!"

He had absolutely no intention of being a father right now.

But the way Lemira said it... did she know something he didn't?

He eyed her suspiciously. "Wouldn't your family demand a paternity test?"

If his mother found out Evelina Sterling was carrying his child, she would literally break his legs. His mother despised Evelina and had spent years trying to force them apart.

At first, breaking up with Evelina had stung, but Dorian had moved on. There were plenty of girls with her exact personality running around.

Lemira's lips curved into a cold smile. "Take a wild guess."

Dorian didn't want to guess. Panic started to set in.

His mood soured completely. "Lemira, aren't you even a little worried she's pregnant with my kid?"

"It's not my baby, why would I care?"

Dorian finally lost his temper. "Listen to me, Lemira. I'm doing you a favor by pursuing you, so you better learn your place. Who else in our social circle is going to want a dumped, used-up woman like you?"

Stella aggressively shoved Dorian backward. "Back off!"

"Don't touch me, Stella! I try to be respectful of disabled people, but—"

Before Dorian could finish his sentence, a swift kick sent him flying backward onto the polished showroom floor.

Lemira shrugged indifferently. "It's gorgeous."

Dorian scoffed loudly from the sidelines. "What good is it being gorgeous? Not like either of you can afford it."

Stella sneered. "You say that like you can."

Stella and Dorian were trust fund kids, sure, but a top-tier supercar required the kind of liquid cash that most heirs couldn't authorize without their parents' permission.

Unfazed, Caleb casually turned to the nearest sales rep. "If I buy this now, can we drive it off the lot today?"

The rep blinked in surprise before nodding enthusiastically. "Absolutely, sir."

Dorian laughed mockingly. "A broke bodyguard couldn't even afford the tires on that thing. Stop putting on a show."

Caleb didn't blink. He pulled a sleek black card from his wallet and handed it to the rep. "Ring it up."

Both Stella and Lemira froze in disbelief.

Caleb walked calmly to the finance desk and ran the card without a second thought.

Dorian's face cycled through several shades of red and purple. His voice dripped with sour jealousy as he looked at Stella. "Wow, Stella. I didn't realize you were a sugar mama to your staff."
