Was he really that good-looking?
Now she was dying to see for herself.
Lemira leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "Where is Stella right now?"
"She went back to the dorm. That gorgeous bodyguard is just sitting on a bench by the road right outside the building. Every girl walking by has been staring at him."
Lemira smiled. He really wasn't letting her out of his sight, was he?
It seemed this bodyguard was incredibly dedicated to Stella.
Lemira couldn't wait for class to end so she could finally get a good look at the man.
The moment the lecture finished, Lemira and Janice bolted out of the building and headed straight for the dorms.
Sure enough, when they arrived, Lemira spotted a crowd gathered outside. Asher was standing there, clutching yet another bouquet, surrounded by a ridiculous heart-shaped arrangement of flowers and candles on the ground.
Lemira's mouth twitched in disbelief. "Wow. Shamelessness really does know no bounds."
Janice noticed Asher too and whispered nervously, "Lemira, isn't that your brother? How does he have the nerve to show his face here?"
Janice had already heard the full story about what Stella had been through from Lemira.
If Lemira hadn't intervened behind the scenes, Stella would have been subjected to unspeakable cruelty. The fate of orphaned heiresses whose fortunes were stolen was notoriously tragic!
"They've always been this entitled. I'm honestly not even surprised."
Lemira instinctively glanced toward the bench nearby. Just as Janice had described, a man was sitting there in a black t-shirt and dark tactical cargo pants.
He wore a baseball cap pulled low, but it couldn't hide his sharp, striking features. His tanned skin gave him a rugged, mature magnetism that easily overshadowed any pretty-boy actor.
Lemira only stared at him for a few seconds before the man suddenly locked eyes with her. His gaze was dangerously sharp.
Lemira jolted in surprise. What a predatory gaze.
He truly lived up to his reputation as a former mercenary. His sheer presence was incredibly intimidating.
Caleb Sterling instantly looked away once he recognized Lemira. He knew exactly who she was.
Lemira awkwardly averted her eyes, feeling flustered at being caught staring.
Janice clutched her chest. "His eyes are terrifying! I felt like a wanted criminal for a second."
