When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 881

Lemira's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you serious?"

Stella had never breathed a word about this!

Lemira wrapped her arms around Orion's neck. "Tell me everything. What exactly happened between them?"

"It involves some R-rated scenes. Are you sure you want all the details?"

Lemira shot him a look. "You probably don't even know the details yourself. Wait, Stella is pretty young. She slept with your high school friend?"

"Stella is a year older than you. It happened around the holidays last year. He had come back to town for a brief visit."

"Why did he come back? Don't tell me he heard Stella was fake-dating Asher?"

Orion fell silent for a moment. "He came back to arrange his grandmother's funeral."

Lemira paused, the gravity of the situation sinking in. "So they just ran into each other?"

"Yes, though I'm not entirely sure how it unfolded. He left shortly after the funeral. I heard Stella flew overseas to look for him later, but nothing ever came of it."

Orion had attended that funeral as well. He was the one who drove Stella home afterward, and she had been utterly despondent the entire ride.

He spoke softly. "I genuinely didn't expect him to return and become her bodyguard."

After hearing the story, Lemira immediately began picturing the romantic trope: a hardened, brooding protector and a soft, sweet heiress.

Stella had mentioned before that her parents were gone. Because of her physical condition, she had always been the one being coddled and looked after at every Waverly family gathering.

Perhaps it was through Orion that she had first met this rugged man.

While Lemira's imagination was running wild, she suddenly realized the hands resting on her waist were getting dangerously bold.

She tried to sit up straight, but he pressed her firmly down against his powerful thighs.

She could feel the hard muscle beneath the fabric of his trousers, radiating a steady, intoxicating heat.

Lemira met his gaze, but before she could utter a single word, Orion dipped his head and captured her lips without a hint of hesitation.

Her hands fluttered to his shoulders as her face burned crimson.

She thought it was just going to be a simple kiss, but why did it feel so different this time?

His hands were definitely crossing into forbidden territory. Lemira instinctively tried to stop him.
