Lemira avoided his eyes. “So, what’s your plan for the Langston Group?”

“I could crush them with hardly any effort. But didn’t you say we should keep them around a little longer? Mrs. Waverly already arranged dinner with me tonight through my mother, probably to talk about this. I’ll put everything on you—Asher will come to you for answers.”

“I understand. I’ll head back to the Langston Estate tonight.”

She caught the concern in his eyes. “I’m just going back to enjoy the show. After all, the real power’s in my hands now. I might as well return to the Langston family and let them think they have the upper hand for a while. If we’re acting, let’s go all in—stir things up and let them bask in their own pride a little longer.”
