When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 686

Lemira said, inching away from him.

Seeing her move to the edge of the bed, Orion placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't move. Do you want to fall off and crack your head open?"

"Then back up a little."

Orion finally moved back slightly, looking at her with a hint of resignation. "You are not to take their money. Everything I have can be yours."

His eyes held a threat.

Lemira lowered her gaze. "I didn't take it."

"Good girl."

Orion glanced at the time. "I have to go to the office. When I get back, we'll handle your discharge papers."

"Okay, you should go."

Lemira couldn't wait for him to leave.

Orion straightened his clothes. "Is your throat feeling okay now? Any discomfort?"

"It's much better."

Orion picked up his suit jacket. "I'll have someone bring breakfast over later."

Lemira watched him leave the room, then touched her lips, where the feeling of his kiss still lingered.

She lay down and pulled the blanket over her face.

It was all so embarrassing.

She had to admit, she was losing control of her feelings. It seemed she was falling for him more and more.

After a while, Lemira fell asleep again.

But she wasn't sleeping deeply. A sound at her ear woke her, and she saw Debby from the PR team coming in with breakfast.

Debby looked a little surprised. "Did I wake you?"

"No, I was only sleeping lightly."

Lemira thought of her past life, how she had given everything for her family but failed to even maintain those bonds.

Love was out of the question.

She had no confidence in these things.

"The best teacher is experience. How will you know you're not good at it if you don't even try?"

Sometimes Debby envied Lemira. Not everyone could capture the affection of the Everhart heir, and be so fiercely protected by him.

After breakfast, Lemira decided to check on Mrs. Eileen.

She went straight upstairs and happened to see Mrs. Amanda putting on a sterile gown to go inside, while Mrs. Amelia waited outside.

Seeing them both there, Lemira stopped, planning to leave and come back later.

"Lemira, stop right there! I was just looking for you! You nearly killed Orion's grandmother!"

Mrs. Amelia strode menacingly toward Lemira and raised her hand to slap her.
