When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 672

Evelina couldn't live like this anymore.

"Didn't I tell you to just endure it a little longer?"

Evelina was on the verge of a breakdown. "But if I endure it any longer, I'm going to die."

"You should go. I'll figure out a way to make the Langstons stop treating you like this."

But Evelina refused to leave, and eventually followed the middle-aged man into the dealership.

Lemira watched them go and whispered, "Where do you think they're headed?"

"We have someone who got a job at the dealership and lives in the employee dorms. We'll have to wait for news from the outside, or we risk tipping them off."

Debby looked at their driver. "Could you make out what they were saying?"

"Evelina said she couldn't stand being treated like a servant at the Langstons'. The man said he had a way to make them treat her better."

Lemira glanced at the driver in surprise, not realizing he could read lips.

Lemira thought for a moment. "He's probably going to target the AI project. The only way Evelina can survive in the Langston family is if Asher's attitude toward her changes."

As for that loser Evander, no one likely paid him any mind.

Debby nodded. "Then we'll keep an eye on PZ Group and find out why they're collaborating with the Langstons. We should have news soon."

"You've planted an informant in PZ Group as well?"

In response to Lemira's question, Debby nodded. "Yes. Mr. Everhart is also suspicious of PZ Group, so he has people looking into the company's background."

Good.

Lemira hoped that if Orion was already suspicious of PZ Group, he wouldn't be deceived by them like he was in her past life.

Lemira waited outside for a while longer. Eventually, Evelina took a cab from another direction and returned to the Langston villa.

But Lemira had no idea what she and her father's cousin had discussed.

What was strange was that Evelina never seemed to contact her own father. It wasn't as if a living person could just vanish into thin air.

But when it came time to split the profits, surely her father would have to show up?

He glared at Evelina. "You are not allowed to go to the company."

Evelina panicked and glanced at Asher. "Asher, it's just for work. It's not at all like what Lemmy is saying."

Asher finally turned to Evander. "Don't be ridiculous. If no one works hard, do you think you'll always have money to spend whenever you want?"

Evander reluctantly fell silent.

Lemira smiled. "Why not have Evander go to the company too? He could help out."

Evander quickly nodded. "You have a point. I'll go to the company with Eve."

But Evelina's expression soured.

With Evander tagging along, how was she supposed to pull any tricks?

The Langston Group was scheduled to make the payment next week. There could be no mistakes at such a critical moment!

What was she going to do?
