When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 668

She didn't know the connection between the Sinclair family and Evelina's father and was worried that investigating them would tip them off. For now, all she could do was keep a close eye on Evelina.

She just had to wait. Evelina was bound to make a move soon.

Now, the 'two-faced' girl was gradually losing everything. After the scandal at the party, her path to marrying into a wealthy family was completely destroyed.

Her only option now was to submit to Evander.

Lemira reflected on her own situation. In contrast, she had gained so much—friendship, love, and a career.

The next day.

Lemira got up and went downstairs, where she heard Evelina and Evander flirting and cooing in the dining room.

When she entered, she saw Evelina sitting on Evander's lap, her face flushed.

She grabbed a sandwich from the table and turned to leave, not wanting her eyes to be polluted by the sight.

"Stop. Did I say you could go?"

Evander held Evelina, feeling quite pleased with himself. "You have no manners. Don't you know how to greet me and your sister-in-law?"

Lemira turned back, a cold smirk on her lips. "I'm not known for my pleasantries."

"Then you should learn to say something nice."

Evelina, with a triumphant smile, quickly intervened. "Evander, let it go. Lemmy has never liked me. I won't hold it against her."

Lemira's gaze fell on Evelina. "Did you take a morning-after pill yesterday?"

Her question made Evelina's face turn bright red with shame. "Evander, look at her! What kind of question is that?"

Evander snapped, "Lemira, watch your mouth! Is that any of your business? Eve and I are getting engaged soon. If there's a baby, we'll have it."

Lemira laughed out loud. "Are you sure the baby would be yours?"

Then again, a psychologically disturbed man like Evander was a perfect match for Evelina.

Evelina's scalp screamed in pain. She stared at Evander in disbelief, as if he were a stranger.

Evelina pleaded, "Evander, are you really going to believe Lemira over me?"

Lemira clicked her tongue. "I'm just offering a friendly reminder, so you won't be wondering whose baby it is when you get pregnant. I'm not lying. It wasn't me who made you fool around with Dorian in the lounge. You're the one who lifted your own skirt, right?"

Evelina shrieked at Lemira, "Shut up, you bitch!"

"I'm the bitch? Then what does that make the woman who cheats, fools around with a strange man in a lounge without a condom, and is rotten to the core?"

Hearing this, Evander raised his hand and slapped Evelina hard across the face.

His eyes were bloodshot. "Eve, you know I've always loved you for being pure and kind. Tell me, did you use protection or not?"

Evelina was stunned by the blow. She couldn't believe this useless simp actually dared to hit her.
