When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 536

Asher was about to say more, but Lucian interrupted him. "Asher, I think it's best if you keep quiet for now. Didn't you say Evelina was innocent? Then maybe you should focus on how you'll explain this to Mrs. Amanda."

Evelina, feeling wronged, tried to defend herself, "But I didn't know she was Mrs. Amanda!"

"Even if she wasn't Mrs. Amanda, just an ordinary guest, she's still someone we invited. How could you call her an old lady and be so disrespectful? No wonder Mrs. Grace Draven says the Langston family lacks manners!"

Lucian had seen everything clearly and knew exactly what had happened.

Evelina was being criticized so harshly that she couldn't even argue back, so she just looked at Asher. "Asher, I didn't mean it."

"Eve, how could you treat our guests with such bias? No wonder Mrs. Grace Draven doesn't think highly of you. You grew up with the Langston family; look at how Lemira handled things today."

Asher was still shaken. "Thank goodness Lemira escorted Mrs. Amanda to rest; otherwise, you could've embarrassed the whole Langston family! How could you be so thoughtless?"

Evelina was in tears, unable to refute Asher's words.

Turning to Lemira, Asher's tone softened significantly. "I'm leaving the rest of the event to you. Please make sure everything is sorted with Mrs. Amanda, or the Aurora Trust might not get another chance."

"Now you're worried?"

Lemira raised an eyebrow, her gaze sarcastic. "Weren't you the one who trusted Evelina? You let her handle things, not me."

Asher's face darkened. "What's the point of saying that now? Do you want to see the Aurora Trust, which our parents founded, fail?"

"Yeah, Lemmy, let's put aside our differences and deal with the situation at hand."

Lucian stepped in to mediate. "As for Evelina, I'm sure Asher will address her actions after today."

Asher immediately nodded. "I'll make sure you have an answer once the event is over."

Lemira glanced at Evelina, realizing it was a perfect opportunity.

She smiled coldly. "I have one condition: she has to leave the Langston family."

Evelina agreed without hesitation. "Fine, I'll move out."

Life had become increasingly difficult since Lemira returned to the Langston family; she might as well live freely on her own.
