When the Flame of Love Fades (Sierra) novel Chapter 315

Chapter 315 Things Left Unsaid

Sierra kissed Johnathan on the cheek before leaving.

Before she left, she made a point to stop by Quinn’s office. Quinn was on a video call with Dora and waved her over excitedly.

“Dora, look who it is!”

On the screen, Dora lit up the moment she saw Sierra. “Pretty lady!” she chirped sweetly.

“No, it’s Ms. Sierra!” Quinn corrected her gently.

But Dora kept insisting, “Pretty lady!”

Sierra chuckled and waved it off “Let her say it. Makes me sound younger anyway.”

Quinn let it go with a smile and stayed on the call with Dora a little longer, chatting gently with her before finally ending the call.

“She’s really adorable,” Sierra said, unable to hide her smile.

That child was unbelievably well–behaved for a three–year–old. No tantrums, no fussing–just pure sweetness.

“Daughters are always a little more tenderhearted.”

Quinn gave Sierra a knowing grin. “So, when are you and Johnathan planning to have one?”

Sierra was speechless.

A baby?

That was way too early. The thought hadn’t even crossed her mind.

She and Johnathan hadn’t been together that long. They hadn’t even talked about marriage, let alone children.

And clearly, Johnathan felt the same. They’d always been careful

“I don’t have any plans for that right now,” Sierra replied. At the very least, she didn’t see it happening for another couple of years. She still wanted to go further in life–she wanted to catch up to Johnathan.

“Really?”

Quinn looked genuinely disappointed. “I thought you two would get married and have kids soon. He’s always wanted one, you know.”

Sierra froze.

Johnathanwanted a child?

He’d never once mentioned it. She had no idea.

Seeing the surprise on her face, Quinn blinked. “You didn’t know? He never told you?”

Sierra instinctively shook her head.

Quinn opened her mouth like she was about to say something else, then quickly stopped herself.

“Well, that was a long time ago. It’s been years–he might’ve changed his mind. You know how he is. His thoughts are always evolving.”

He liked kids? He actually wanted a child of his own?

Was that true?

Sierra thought back. Sure enough, her mood swings lately all seemed to revolve around Johnathan.

“Oh, and Mr. Yaeger…” Autumn hesitated for a second before asking, “Is the stuff online true?”

“You know–about him being some bigshot?”

“I don’t mean just in science. I mean in business too.”

The online rumors had been everywhere for a while. Of course Autumn and the others had seen them.

Honestly, none of them were shocked. Maybe it was because they’d always looked up to Johnathan. In their eyes, he could do anything.

But that clash with the Zach family had rocked the world–so many ordinary people had suffered. The stock market went wild. Countless people lost their jobs. Autumn’s family had been affected too, though luckily they found work again quickly, so the damage wasn’t too deep.

Sierra had never intended to hide it. She knew she couldn’t, even if she tried.

She nodded. “It’s true.”

She half–expected Autumn to be upset, but instead, Autumn just gave her a look that mixed awe, envy, and pure existential defeat.

“Sierra… how can someone be that good at everything?”

They weren’t even much younger than Johnathan, and they were still fumbling through their experiments–meanwhile, he’d been building an empire.

Truly, some people were just built different.
