Chapter 374
“Leanna!” Jessica called out anxiously from the hillside.
Leon followed closely behind her, his senses on high alert as he scanned the surroundings for any sign of danger.
“Leanna!” Jessica called out again, her voice thick with anxiety and worry.
Leon wanted to say something comforting, but knew it would be meaningless until they found Leanna.
“Leanna…”
“Jessica, I’m down here,” Leanna called from the foot of the hill.
Leon swept Jessica into his arms and, with a few swift steps, reached the foot of the hill in an instant.
“Are you hurt, Leanna?” Jessica rushed to Leanna’s side the moment she landed, her eyes anxiously scanning every inch of her for injuries.
Her arm was still oozing blood, but otherwise, there were no other visible injuries.
“I’m fine,” Leanna said with a smile. “Just got hit by a rock that assailant threw at me. But he didn’t get away with much either.”
Leanna extended the broken arrow in her hand toward Jessica.
Leanna held the feathered end of a shattered long arrow. Its head was gone, the shaft still bearing dark bloodstains.
“Did you chase that man all the way here? Any other injuries?” Jessica’s shoulders sagged with relief as she moved to examine Leanna’s wounds.
“I’m fine. He’s worse off than me. Jessica, we can’t let him report back to his people. We must drive him away.”
“Got it,” Jessica replied. Still, she checked Leanna’s wound. Fortunately, it wasn’t deep.
But judging by the broken arrow in Leanna’s hand, the white–clad assailant was seriously injured.
Alivia’s archery once again shattered Jessica’s understanding.
The white–clad figure’s internal energy clearly surpassed Alivia’s, yet he still fell to the arrows.
“Stop the bleeding first,” Jessica said. She quickly took out the healing powder she always carried and sprinkled some on Leanna’s wound, too pressed to bandage it.
“I’m good at tracking. Leanna and I will pursue him further. You should head back first and rest with the others.”
Jessica was clearly addressing Leon, but he didn’t so much as bat an eye.
After finishing applying medicine to Leanna, Jessica looked up and met Leon’s profound, penetrating gaze fixed on her.
‘Fine, like this stubborn guy will ever be willing to go back first,‘ she thought.
“Still got energy?”
Leon reached out his hand. “Want me to show you?”
“Never mind, Your Highness. You’re tough. If you say you can, then you can.” Jessica had no time to argue. Following Leanna’s trail, she quickly spotted bloodstains on the path.
Sure enough, the white–clad assailant had fled this way.
