Tiffany shot Bear a sharp glare and warned him, "Keep your voice down, Bear."
Bear obediently covered his mouth and whispered, "How did you get your hands on him?"
"I kidnapped him," Tiffany replied bluntly.
Bear and Slim exchanged bewildered looks.
Slim cautioned, "Miss, didn't you want to marry into the Nicholls family to revive the Sullivan Group? Isn't this… going against them?"
"He knows things he shouldn't, and I hate kids. Even if I marry in, I don't want to be anyone's stepmom," Tiffany said as her eyes flashed with viciousness. "Take him away at midnight. Find a deserted place and… take care of him."
Bear asked, "Are you leaving now?"
"I have important business," Tiffany replied. Then, she grabbed her bag and left without another glance at Callum. She needed to establish an alibi to avoid any future suspicion.
Bear turned and spotted the snacks on the bed, his eyes lighting up.
"Oh, snacks! How thoughtful of Ms. Sullivan!"
He started stuffing his face, too busy eating to talk.
Callum watched him silently, not out of fear but because he was pondering over Tiffany's words. He had said so many things to please her, things she wanted to hear, but she did not seem to believe him and still wanted to get rid of him.
His parents must have known he was missing, and he wondered how he could help them find him.
Callum felt anxious and scared as Tiffany had left him with these two unfamiliar men.
Bear was a glutton, focused solely on the food once he saw it.
"Take it easy," Slim reminded him.
He pulled out his last few bills and handed them to Bear.
Bear felt insulted. "Are you saying I'm brainless? No way, you go! I'm watching him today. Hurry up and go!"
"Bear!" Slim gave in.
He repeated his instructions repeatedly before finally leaving. Since there was a food stand nearby, he figured it was best to hurry back and believed the boy could not escape in such a short time.
"How can your stomach hold so much yummy food? You're amazing! Can you teach me?" Callum's face was full of admiration.
"You think I'm amazing?" Bear cleared his throat, putting on airs.
Seeing an opportunity, Callum immediately played the role of a devoted fan. "Of course! I think you're super manly, much cooler than that guy!"
