Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2188

Mavis said with a grave tone, "Mr. Nicholls, I'll petition the court to grant the divorce. If you come to your senses before then, contact me to finalize the divorce quickly. Otherwise, we'll see each other in court."

Nathaniel's face darkened instantly.

Even so, she could not care less about his mood as she was upset.

"If there's nothing else, Mr. Nicholls, please leave. Dylan needs to rest."

Dylan rolled his eyes.

"Get out already. If you stay any longer, I might have a panic attack."

Their dismissal was tactless, and they even did it in front of Elliot and Sheena.

Nathaniel remained gloomy and silent, with Troy pushing his wheelchair out.

After that, Elliot and Sheena said their goodbyes to Mavis and followed Nathaniel out of the room.

In the hospital corridor, Elliot did not mince words and said, "You had a winning hand, and you blew it."

Nathaniel remained silent.

Sheena added, "Mae was visibly hesitating about the divorce, but then you came in with this act and angered her all over again. I don't even know where to start."

Nathaniel's Adam's apple bobbed as he clenched his bruised hand.

Sheena continued, "I know you too well. You'd rather tell a hundred lies to cover one than simply apologize sincerely. If I were Mae, I wouldn't forgive you either."

Nathaniel listened without saying a word.

The hospital corridor had turned into a session to criticize Nathaniel.

Sheena pressed on, "When you thought Mae had died in childbirth, you were nearly broken with guilt. Have you forgotten that pain so quickly? Now that you finally have a chance to make amends, you're wasting it again?"

The couple had not seen each other since.

Nathaniel did end up seeking help.

Due to the car accident and the recent fight, he had to visit the National Investigation Bureau almost daily. During these visits, he always stopped by Lionel's office for a cup of tea.

As straightforward as always, Lionel could not help but criticize him each time.

"Only you could be stupid enough to choose the riskiest way to win over your wife."

Nathaniel sipped his tea, unfazed by the sarcasm.

"I've told you before, the ultimate trick to winning her back is to be shameless. You were in the wrong to begin with, but you keep refusing to swallow your pride. You come up with these terrible ideas, even breaking your brother-in-law's arm. Now Mavis is taking the divorce to court, and you're running to me for help. What good will that do?"

Nathaniel glanced at his bruised and swollen fingers, agreeing, "It was indeed a terrible idea. But I'm curious to see if you might come up with something worse."
