Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2018

Nathaniel listened in silence as Mildred scolded him.

"The baby has been born for several days, and you haven't even named him yet. The birth certificate isn't processed, and Mae's funeral arrangements are still incomplete. If you truly feel guilty, you should be handling these matters, not hiding here and numbing yourself with alcohol. Do you understand?"

As the alcohol wore off, Nathaniel's mind was clearer than it had been in days.

Mildred's words struck home, leaving him no room for argument.

"Yes, Grandma, you're right. I'm sorry."

Mildred sighed, relieved he was acknowledging his faults.

"Good. Now get up. You must handle everything I just mentioned personally. No help from bodyguards or assistants. Even for the baby's birth certificate, you need to handle it yourself. Consider it a lesson."

"Yes," Nathaniel replied.

His face was pale, and his sorrowful blue eyes revealed nothing of his inner thoughts.

Nathaniel was also starting to eat, which was a relief for Mildred and Gabrielle.

Nathaniel was even more thorough than ever in choosing the baby's name, browsing various sources.

Finally, he decided on "Callum Nicholls".

Mildred was satisfied with the name, often calling out to the baby with his new name.

Aside from the name, Mavis' funeral was mostly arranged, and Nathaniel was only responsible for overseeing the process.

For several days, he adhered to a regular eating schedule and busied himself with Callum and the arrangement for Mavis' funeral.

He was quiet but seemed to have returned to his usual self.

Mildred and Gabrielle were relieved, believing he had finally come to terms with everything.

However, on the night after the funeral, Nathaniel fainted.

She took a breath, huffed angrily, then continued, "Being a father isn't easy, and you'll have to learn from books or online resources. And one more thing. The baby is still very young. If you have the heart to let your baby suffer from illness at such a young age, continue smoking or drinking. Just keep on torturing yourself. I won't stop you."

Mildred gave him one last disapproving look as she watched his confused and helpless expression while holding the baby.

Reluctantly, she refrained from taking Callum back.

"You may not be a good husband, but I hope you can at least be a decent father!"

With that, she left.

The bodyguards placed Callum's things into the room and followed Mildred out, leaving Nathaniel alone.

He was still holding the baby, looking utterly lost.

As the door slammed shut behind them with a bang, Mildred immediately dropped her act and returned to the door.

She whispered, "How was it? Did he show any reaction?"
