The woman fainted again after uttering those words.
Kai and Kristen stared at each other, confused.
Kristen pointed at herself in confusion. "Did she just call me Kristen Serrano? Is that really my name?"
The woman's reaction was strange, and it was as if she recognized Kristen.
Kristen felt a pang of disappointment. If her name was indeed Kristen Serrano, it meant she was not from the wealthy Lawson family, which crushed her dreams of sudden wealth.
As someone with no memory, Kristen had no idea what would come from saving this woman.
Without the dream of sudden riches, only nightmares remained.
Kai noticed Kristen's reaction and said, "She wasn't fully conscious. It's possible she mistook you for someone else. We'll ask her again when she wakes up."
"Okay."
Kristen helped carry the unconscious woman as they decided to take her back home.
…
The woman remained unconscious for two full days and nights before finally waking up.
Kai sat beside her, his expression neutral.
"You're finally awake. Are you feeling any discomfort? Our medical facilities are basic, so you'll have to make do with what we have."
The woman looked around at the modest, sand-walled hut and then at Kai.
His tanned face was rather dry, having weathered through the harsh environment.
The woman watched their exchange with disdain, finding their intimacy somewhat comical.
Yet, she kept her thoughts to herself.
"Callie, what a beautiful name," she said, trying to build rapport.
"I'm Jasmine Savas, and I'm involved in the black market in Froania. But don't worry, I'm a grateful person."
Her pale but strikingly beautiful face was framed by a pleasant smile.
Kai and Kristen responded with polite smiles, maintaining a friendly demeanor.
However, Kai remained cautious about Jasmine.
"The island is humid, and our home is quite modest. You look like someone accustomed to luxury. Once you're well, I can arrange for a boat to take you back to your home," Kai suggested.
