Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1961

Nathaniel's face turned pale as he stared at her in disbelief.

"You want to go back to Froania just to finalize the divorce paperwork? It seems you're determined to leave me."

She was so eager and excited for the marriage at the beginning, yet it suddenly felt like nothing more than an obstacle.

Meeting his gaze, Mavis nodded firmly.

"Yes, I am determined to leave you."

Before leaving, she added, "Nathaniel, I'll eventually cut ties with you. If you have any sense, don't bother me or my friends."

Nathaniel frowned, and before she could walk away, he grabbed her arm forcefully, making her stumble a few steps.

Mavis was annoyed and about to say something, but Nathaniel interrupted, "Are you really this heartless?"

"Heartless? Who could be more heartless than you?"

"Do you truly not love me anymore?"

Mavis's expression remained unchanged. "No, I don't love you. Not at all."

Nathaniel did not believe her. "Look me in the eyes and say it again."

Mavis did not bother to respond.

She turned to leave and said, "You're hopeless if you can't understand plain language."

The ground was wet, and she suddenly slipped from walking too fast.

"Ah!" she exclaimed in a panic, instinctively protecting her belly as she fell backward.

Nathaniel reacted quickly and caught her.

"With your careless nature, how could I ever trust you to live here alone?"

"Before you came, I was doing just fine. My baby and I were safe. Maybe you should consider if the problem lies with you," Mavis retorted, freeing herself from his embrace.

With a cold attitude, she added, "Mr. Nicholls, we'll be divorced sooner or later. Please show some respect."

She walked away carefully, looking resolute.

Seeing her stunned expression, Nathaniel was taken aback as well.

What did that look mean?

He briefly considered the situation.

He and Mavis had only been together once, and she had taken the pill right in front of him.

Given the timeline, the child could not possibly be his.

Mavis realized this was her chance and confessed, "Yes, that's right. Because of this child, I need to leave you. I have a new life now, and as you can see, I'm happy. So please, just leave me alone, and let's handle the divorce quietly."

She tried to enter her room, but Nathaniel quickly placed his hand against the doorframe.

However, Mavis accidentally slammed the door hard on his fingers.

The sudden pain caused Nathaniel's face to go pale, and he winced as he pulled his hand away.
