Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1774

Regardless of whatever private matters existed between her and Nathaniel, these were all tasks within her responsibilities.

By the time Tommy delivered the next batch of files, Mavis had already organized everything.

Tommy kindly offered a word of caution, "Mrs. Nicholls, Mr. Nicholls is back, and we might be in for a devilishly busy time ahead."

Nathaniel was known to be a workaholic.

Once in work mode, he could be described as nothing short of a demon.

Mavis smiled at Tommy's well-meaning reminder but did not say much.

She had seen every terrifying side of Nathaniel, and she was used to his erratic moods.

Her smile seemed oddly out of place in this context, leaving Tommy feeling puzzled.

At the Nicholls residence, Nathaniel did not wake until the afternoon.

His head throbbed painfully, and his body ached as if he had been in a brawl.

It was a hellish travel back home for him.

He had to drive from the fishing village to the airport and catch an eight-hour flight afterward.

For some reason, he could not fall asleep on the plane.

The twelve-hour-long journey with little rest in between took a toll on him, especially since he was not getting any younger.

Then, he left the bedroom.

After a light meal, Nathaniel headed to the office.

In his absence, a mountain of documents and contracts awaited his signature.

He wore a black suit with a black and gold tie, complemented by gold-rimmed glasses, exuding a commanding presence.

His handsome face was devoid of any warmth, and his already intimidating aura now felt even more stifling.

Any employee who encountered him bowed and kept their distance, fearing they might invite trouble.

Nathaniel kept his gaze forward as he rode the private elevator to the top floor.

Her gaze involuntarily wandered to his office, but unfortunately, the blinds were already down, blocking any view inside.

An hour passed…

Two hours passed…

Nathaniel did not summon her, seemingly reverting to their previous standoffish attitude.

Mavis felt increasingly frustrated.

She had so many questions to ask him, yet she did not even have a chance to speak with him.

He must have seen her when he walked past earlier, but… he seemed completely indifferent.

A profound sense of defeat washed over her, leaving Mavis feeling drained as she slumped over the desk.

Suddenly, the intercom on her desk rang.

Mavis nearly jumped up.

She steadied her breathing and picked up the phone. It was a line dedicated to the CEO's office…
