"I know," Elliot replied coldly, not saying more.
Noticing he was uninterested in chatting, Yvette decided to stay quiet as well.
Perhaps tired from the earlier escape, she soon fell asleep, even letting out light snores.
Lance glanced back and could not help but tease, "She's really relaxed, huh? She trusts us completely, not even worried we might be bad guys."
Elliot did not respond but just shot him a sharp look.
Lance immediately stopped fooling around and continued focusing on the road.
When they arrived at the hotel, Yvette was still asleep in the back.
Lance called out, "Hey, how long are you planning to sleep?"
Yvette rubbed her eyes, dazed.
However, she eagerly jumped out of the car when she noticed the familiar surroundings.
Sheena and Mavis were discussing how to rescue Yvette in the hotel lobby when they heard a shout behind them.
"Sheena! Mae!"
Both turned around instantly.
Sheena hurried over to Yvette, giving her a quick check.
"Yve? Are you okay? How did you escape?"
Sheena was ready to leverage all her resources to face Giorgio, but Yvette miraculously escaped on her own.
Mavis was equally shocked, adding, "Ray said there was no way into that lab, though. What happened?"
It was simply unbelievable.
"It's no big deal. Don't be so surprised."
Yvette's shock was written all over her face.
She knew a woman like Sheena would have many wooers, but she had never imagined she was already taken.
"Mae, what's his name?" Yvette asked, her curiosity piqued.
Mavis led her away and began to fill her in on the details of Sheena and Elliot's relationship.
When Yvette heard they already had two adorable children, she was even more dumbfounded.
…
Elliot's face bore the scars of his recent tasks, with a small bandage on his left cheek.
Sheena gently touched the bandage on his face, her heart aching at the sight.
