Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1646

Mavis woke up, surprised to find herself… in Nathaniel's arms!

Her hand was even resting on his waist!

Did anything happen last night other than sleep?

She gently lifted her head, only to find that Nathaniel was still sound asleep.

His breath had a pleasant, slightly sweet scent.

She remembered reading online that girls could sense a unique fragrance when close to someone they liked, making them want to be closer.

His eyelashes were long, casting soft shadows on his eyelids.

He seemed much less intimidating while asleep, with a peacefulness that softened his usual demeanor.

Though she was enchanted by him, Mavis knew better than to wake him up.

She quietly slipped out of bed and went to wash up.

Downstairs, Gabrielle was having breakfast.

Seeing Mavis, she greeted her warmly, "Mae, you're up so early!"

Gabrielle was up early for a class, but it was only seven, still too early for work.

Mavis smiled. "I slept well last night. I thought I'd head to the office early to get a jump on some tasks."

It was an honest statement. She did have a great rest the night before.

Seeing the shy expression on Mavis's face, Gabrielle raised an eyebrow knowingly.

"I'll have the driver take you to the office. What's Nate doing, sleeping in while his wife is already up?"

Blushing at Gabrielle's teasing, Mavis quickly had a few bites of breakfast before heading out.

On the way to the office, her mind kept replaying the events of last night.

Nathaniel had been so different, so gentle.

Unable to hide her smile, Mavis felt like the air around her was filled with love and happiness.

At the office, Mavis cheerfully greeted her colleagues, and she did not mind if they did not return the same energy.

Hence, she could only suppress the doubts in her heart for the time being and carefully examine the report.

She quickly noticed items they had not purchased.

"Ms. Hayward, these items weren't part of our procurement. There must be a mistake," Mavis pointed out.

Aileen gave her a scrutinizing look before pressing the intercom.

"Bring in Mavis's team, as well as Diana and her team."

Soon, everyone gathered in Aileen's office.

"Explain the inflated expense. Where did these items come from?" Aileen demanded, pacing angrily.

If the higher-ups found out and verified the matter, she would have to bid farewell to her current job.

Diana spoke up first, "Ms. Hayward, this has nothing to do with us. I submitted our purchases and expense report to the finance department yesterday without any issues. This must be…"

She paused, casting a malicious glance at Mavis.
