Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1628

Nathaniel stood up and left the conference room after saying that.

Once he was gone, the room erupted into chatter, with everyone discussing the events that had just transpired.

Most of the conversation centered around Mavis's situation.

"Does this mean Mr. Nicholls is letting her off the hook?"

"With Mr. Nicholls's personality, how could he easily let an intern off? Who is she anyway?"

"Exactly. I've been with the company for years, and I remember a few years ago, a senior employee mistakenly sent documents meant for our branch office to a partner instead. It didn't cause major losses, but Mr. Nicholls was furious. He not only fired the employee but also made it clear that any company that hired him would be crossing the Nicholls Group. He basically blacklisted the guy."

The group glanced at Mavis and sighed.

"It just goes to show that looks really are everything. Skills can come later."

They continued discussing other matters before finally leaving the room.

They did not bother to lower their voices as they talked, and Mavis had heard every word.

She wondered if Nathaniel was actually being biased.

After all, she had believed her abilities had earned his approval.

Feeling a bit disheartened, Mavis lowered her gaze and wiped the whiteboard clean.

She was about to leave when Aileen called her over.

Pushing aside her thoughts, Mavis walked over to Aileen.

"Ms. Hayward."

"Can you redo the proposal by tonight? I believe you have the capability."

Watching Mavis present earlier, Aileen had felt a surge of pride, like a mentor seeing their student finally excel.

Mavis immediately smiled and replied, "Rest assured, Ms. Hayward. I'll complete the task."

She was prepared to pack up and leave, but the outcome was totally unexpected.

She thought she saw the murderous glint in Mavis's eyes.

For a moment, Mavis's gaze had been terrifying, making her feel a hint of fear.

"Diana? What's wrong?" Rowena noticed Diana's dazed expression and knocked on her desk.

"Oh, it's nothing. Get back to work."

Mavis was busy at her desk the entire afternoon, typing and drawing, thoroughly engrossed in her tasks.

With her previous experience, she completed the proposal much faster than before, even adding some new ideas.

After working hard all afternoon, she finally finished the new proposal just before the end of the day.

It was more comprehensive and detailed than the previous one.

To prevent a repeat of the earlier mishap, Mavis sent the completed proposal directly to both Aileen and Nathaniel. She had poured her heart into this new version, hoping he would be satisfied with it.
