Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1534

Lance was skeptical and worried about getting hit by Elliot.

"Mhm," Elliot replied simply.

His expression was unreadable, and he offered no further explanation.

After that, he stood up and began walking down the hill, leading his team to conduct a final sweep of Oakridge Town.

Even though Lance was terrified, he reluctantly took on the task, carefully carrying Sheena down the hill.

After all the commotion, the team returned to the National Investigation Bureau while Elliot stayed at the hospital.

The doctor had just finished examining Sheena, and the results were in.

"Mr. Jenkins, the report indicates that Mrs. Jenkins is fine. She's just been through a scare and seems to have missed a few meals, resulting in some malnutrition. I'll put her on an IV for nutrients and prescribe some sedatives."

"Thank you, doctor."

Once the doctor left, Elliot sat by the bedside, his expression complex and grim.

Suddenly, a hand tugged at his sleeve.

Sheena had woken up, and she called out with a raspy voice, "Honey, I'm so glad you're here."

Elliot snapped out of his thoughts, patted her hand to reassure her, and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

His movements were tender.

"I'm just glad you're okay."

Sheena stared at him somewhat obsessively, her eyes glued to his handsome face.

Elliot averted his gaze, asking, "What happened five days ago? Why did your car plunge out of Orkayd Tunnel?"

Sheena lowered her eyes, thinking deeply before rubbing her forehead in distress.

"I can't remember clearly. I only recall that after the car fell into the gully, I passed out. When I woke up, I was already tied up."

Her eyes widened in fear as if suddenly recalling something, and she clutched Elliot's sleeve tightly.

"Honey, the person who kidnapped me was Keaton, the one who hurt Asher."

She even knew about the tainted formula incident…

Elliot felt his heart waver, but he still replied calmly, "I've already known about that. Don't worry. I won't let you out of my sight again. I'll protect you. He won't get another chance to hurt us."

Elliot frowned slightly, feeling uncomfortable.

The woman in front of him was undeniably his wife, yet instead of feeling aroused, he felt repulsed.

He gently grabbed her wrist, stopping her from continuing her teasing.

"You've been through a lot, and the doctor said you need to rest. We can talk about other things later."

Sheena pouted, clearly unhappy with his rejection.

She wondered if the handsome, muscular Elliot Jenkins, the highly esteemed head of the National Investigation Bureau, was somehow lacking in that matter.

How could he resist being with his beloved wife after she had been missing for five days?

While she fumed silently, Elliot continued to observe her every expression and detail.

"Nana, you have no idea how wrecked I've been these past few days. I couldn't eat or sleep. I thought about you constantly, terrified you'd forget me and our vows to each other."

Sheena smiled, her voice hoarse but tender. "How could I forget? You're my everything."

Elliot's eyes remained unreadable as he fixed his gaze on her.

Then, enunciating each word clearly, he asked, "Do you remember the promise you made to me?"
