Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1532

Elliot silently approached the old man from behind, gently grabbing the back of his collar.

His voice was calm and courteous as he asked, "Sir, how long have you been fishing here?"

The old man instantly trembled at the sound of Elliot's voice.

Elliot chuckled. "What are you afraid of?"

"N-No… I…"

Before he could finish explaining, Elliot lifted him by the collar and threw him heavily onto the grass behind them.

The man landed with a thud, yelping in pain from the impact.

Elliot quickly ripped off the man's fake beard, causing him to cry out in pain again.

"Does a man of your age even need a fake beard? Should I start peeling back the layers to see how much of you is real?" Elliot's voice was icy.

"Please, no! Mr. Jenkins, I'm just a pawn!" the man's voice, now devoid of its elderly disguise, pleaded.

Elliot narrowed his eyes, questioning, "Where's Keaton?"

"Keaton?" The man looked confused. "I don't know anyone by that name. Really, I don't."

Elliot's temper flared as he stomped on the man's stomach with his military boot, and his aura was terrifying.

The man trembled in pain.

"Mr. Jenkins, I really don't know who you're talking about. Our leader already left. All the men in Oakridge Town were taken away, leaving just me behind. I only know our leader by his codename, the Goat. I swear I don't know anyone named Keaton."

Gone again.

Every time, they were a step too late.

Keaton moved quickly, negotiating terms while planning his escape.

His speed suggested he might have an informant within the Bureau.

Elliot's expression darkened as he kicked the man in the calf.

"They left only you, a useless pawn, to take the fall. He clearly intends to sacrifice you. Why are you still covering for him?"

The man cried out in pain, shaking his head.

"No, I'm not! I know those who confess will be treated more leniently, and there are consequences if I lie! I'll tell you everything I know!"

Something was off.

Despite knowing the location had been compromised, Keaton had fled without taking his hostage.

It did not make sense.

It was not in Keaton's nature to leave such a valuable bargaining chip behind.

Elliot abruptly stopped, causing Lance and the rest of the Tenth Division to halt as well.

They raised their guns and assumed defensive positions.

The man leading them was startled by the sudden display of force.

"M-Mr. Jenkins?"

Elliot's voice was icy as he said, "He left an hour ago. During that time, he could have taken the hostage with him. It's not like him to abandon such an important asset."

Elliot smirked and swiftly drew the gun from his waistband, chambered a round, and aimed it at the man's head.

"Are you certain the person in that tree hollow is my wife?"
