Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1528

Elliot's suspicions grew stronger with each passing moment.

At midnight, he returned quickly to the lab, utterly exhausted.

As he pushed open the ward door, he noticed the room was quiet.

A dim yellow lamp cast a soft glow over the ward. Lionel was sitting by the bed, dozing off.

Asher and Adora were on the bed, seemingly asleep for some time.

Elliot was a bit surprised and whispered, "You managed to get both of them to sleep? Impressive."

Lionel scratched his head sheepishly. "Elliot, it's not exactly as you think. But they were really good tonight. At first, Adora was a bit fussy, but Asher started telling her a story like Sheena did. Amazingly, it worked, and Adora fell asleep. Asher didn't need any coaxing. He just lay down next to her and fell asleep too."

Elliot listened in amazement.

So, Asher had taken on the role of both parents in his absence, putting Adora to sleep?

Asher's maturity and kindness momentarily eased his constant worry and unease over the past few days.

"Elliot, you've had a tough day. You should rest in the room next door. I'll watch over Asher," Lionel suggested.

Elliot walked over, sat by the bed, and shook his head. "You should go home. I'll stay here. Jacintha might be waiting for you at home, and I don't want to keep you from spending time with your wife. Go on."

Lionel blushed slightly.

Jacintha was probably waiting for him at home, sitting on the sofa.

He did not argue further and said, "Alright, Elliot. You rest with Asher. I'll come back in the morning."

Elliot nodded and remembered Adora's complaint about the breakfast from the National Investigation Bureau.

"Ask Jacintha to make a couple of extra breakfasts for the kids. No spicy stuff."

"Sure."

After Lionel left, Elliot sat closer to the bed and leaned down to gently kiss the foreheads of his two little ones.

With a heavy heart and teary eyes, Elliot fought back the growing panic.

He kissed Asher's forehead again and settled down by the bed, resting his upper body on the edge of it.

For three days straight, the National Investigation Bureau turned Svelton upside down. Every lead they followed seemed to slip away just as they got close as if someone was deliberately taunting them.

Elliot's suspicion that Keaton was behind this grew stronger with each passing day.

It had been five days since Sheena disappeared, and Elliot was on the brink of madness.

Desperate, he decided to try calling one of the suspicious numbers he had found earlier.

The phone rang ten times before it was finally answered.

The record showed that the number belonged to a woman, but the voice on the other end was deep and masculine.
