Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1506

Just while he was feeling at a loss, Nathaniel spotted Lionel emerging from the Reynolds mansion, quietly smoking in a corner.

Lionel eventually noticed him and personally escorted him past the security line.

"Why are you here? You're no longer the head of the Special Investigation Department. This kind of major case isn't your business."

Observing the surroundings of the Reynolds mansion, Nathaniel replied calmly, "If the Reynolds family honestly had no enemies, then the last person Umair had a dispute with was me. As the head of the Nicholls family and the former leader of the Special Investigation Department, I would be the prime suspect. You'll eventually want to question me, so it's better for me to come and explain myself."

"Fair point."

Lionel smirked, extinguishing his cigarette.

"Let's go. Elliot is upstairs in Cassie's room conducting an investigation."

With his hands in his pockets, Nathaniel casually trailed behind Lionel.

Yet, his keen eyes were carefully scanning the Reynolds mansion.

The garden was a gruesome sight, with blood stains everywhere and the lingering stench of death, bearing witness to the brutal mass murder that had occurred here last night.

Surveying the scene, Nathaniel observed the busy forensic team.

Covered corpses were being carried out of the mansion on stretchers, leaving behind only bloodstains and distinct white lines where the bodies once lay.

Lionel's demeanor turned serious upon entering, and Nathaniel's expression mirrored his grave mood.

"Have they checked the mansion's surveillance and the street cameras?" Nathaniel inquired.

"They have. All surveillance was destroyed before the incident, and the video chips were removed. There were no fingerprints left at the scene," Lionel replied.

Nathaniel glanced at the white lines marking the positions of the bodies on the floor.

"Have they figured out what weapon was used to kill them?"

"There were no weapons left at the scene. The perpetrator was precise and took away all traceable evidence. However, forensic reports on several bodies have come back, and almost all of them were shown to be killed by multiple slashes with a blade," Lionel explained.

Multiple slashes with a blade indicated a severe level of retaliation.

How deep was the grudge against the Reynolds family?

"Why did your matchmaking with Cassie fall apart? And why target her and the Reynolds family?"

Elliot fired off questions one after another, his handsome face bearing a solemn expression as if something was bothering him.

Nonetheless, he disclosed the previous events truthfully, including the incident where Cassie plotted against Mavis.

He held nothing back.

"...After canceling the collaboration with the Reynolds Group, I threatened Umair, telling him to make Cassie apologize to Mavis or face a company crisis. After struggling for a while, Umair complied with my demand and had Cassie apologize. At that point, Mavis indicated she wouldn't hold a grudge anymore, so I stopped pressuring the Reynolds Group further and let them suffer millions in losses. I hadn't been keeping tabs on the Reynolds family, so I never expected such a gruesome incident to occur just a month later," Nathaniel explained, his expression grave.

He narrowed his eyes as he voiced his speculation.

"To wipe out the entire Reynolds family overnight, leaving them defenseless and unable to even make an emergency call, requires thorough planning. It's beyond the capabilities of an ordinary person. Remember the contaminated baby formula case that harmed Asher? The mastermind behind it aimed to harm the children of wealthy families through the formula, and they… targeted the Jenkins family."

Elliot's brow furrowed almost instantly.

How could he forget?

The contaminated baby formula was responsible for triggering the virus in Asher's body, and the mastermind behind it, Keaton, was still at large.
