Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1504

Why was Elliot not answering?

Did something happen to him too?

Such a high-profile case would definitely require the National Investigation Bureau's involvement...

Was he ambushed or targeted for assassination?

As Sheena's mind raced with these thoughts, the phone kept ringing, its tone stretching to the final moments before it would disconnect.

She held her breath, tension gripping her.

At the last second, the call connected.

Elliot's familiar, deep voice came through, soothing and reassuring.

"Honey, what's up?"

Hearing that he was safe, Sheena breathed a sigh of relief.

"Where are you?"

"I'm at the Reynolds Mansion, investigating last night's massacre. My phone was on vibrate, so I didn't catch your call right away."

"That's okay. I just needed to know you were safe."

Sheena exhaled, reading headlines about the Reynolds family tragedy on her computer.

Elliot chuckled softly. "I'm here to investigate, not to be a victim. I'm fine."

Sheena read through the news reports, feeling that something was off.

"Honey, how's the investigation going?"

"We're still piecing it together. We're cataloging the bodies and sending them for autopsy. There were no weapons left at the scene. The killer was very meticulous."

Sheena's worry deepened. "Can I come over and take a look?"

"No, we're preserving the crime scene to keep all evidence intact. It's gruesome, and the smell of blood is overwhelming. You might not handle it well. Don't worry, I'll pick you up from work when I'm done."

"Do you have any initial suspects?"

Elliot did not reply immediately.

However, the background noise on his end faded, indicating he had moved to a quieter area.

Ensuring no one could overhear, he finally spoke.

He seemed to despise everyone except her.

Still, she held firm.

"He wouldn't commit such a heinous act of massacring of over a hundred people."

Moreover, while Nathaniel was now the head of the Nicholls family and CEO of the Nicholls Group, he had no organization at his disposal.

Hence, orchestrating a mass murder at the Reynolds mansion was beyond him.

Elliot remained quiet for a long time.

Finally, he said, "Alright, I understand. I'll investigate thoroughly and won’t overlook any suspects, but I won’t wrongfully accuse anyone either."

After hanging up, Elliot stood in a secluded corner of the Reynolds mansion garden, clutching his phone tightly.

His eyes were filled with frustration.

He, too, doubted that Nathaniel was behind such a monstrosity, but hearing Sheena defend Nathaniel so adamantly irritated him.

It irritated him greatly!
