Nathaniel did not even glance at her and immediately went to the small sofa in the study, crossing his long legs casually.
Then, he took out his laptop and began working.
Mavis only noticed Nathaniel had not left after several minutes.
She tilted her head and looked at him, asking, "Are you busy working?"
Nathaniel's slender and attractive fingertips tapped away at the keyboard, completely focused and ignoring her.
If he was really busy working, then she felt a bit guilty…
After all, it was Nathaniel's home. Yet, she was occupying his desk and causing him to work from the sofa…
"Should we… switch places?"
Nathaniel paused his typing, giving her a cold stare as if she were an idiot.
He let her use the desktop computer, so it was impossible to switch places.
Did she not think before speaking?
While secretly criticizing Mavis, Nathaniel showed no expression on his face.
"No need. Keep your mouth shut, deal with your tasks, and don't bother me."
Mavis wisely kept quiet and continued entering data.
For a while, the only sound in the study was the tapping of the keyboards.
Both were busy with their work, being in each other's presence so naturally as if they had been married for years.
…
Mavis was rather new to typing on keyboards, so her speed was a bit slow.
When Nathaniel finished his work two hours later, she still had not completed hers.
Nathaniel frowned as he coldly observed her profile.
Was the workload too much on the company's side, or was she just too stupid?
"You're using the wrong technique. Even if you type for a year, you won't catch up to my speed."
Mavis nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes, you're the fastest."
Nathaniel did not like the sound of that.
He gritted his teeth and lightly tapped her head. "Men aren't supposed to be fast."
"What?"
Mavis was focused on her work and did not understand what he was talking about.
Nathaniel did not bother explaining further.
Instead, he leaned in close, grabbed her hand resting on the keyboard, and corrected her finger placement.
"Your left hand should cover this side of the keyboard, and the right covers the other side. After typing, hit the space bar with your thumb.
"This key is 'Enter,' and you can use it for new lines. You need to remember the order of these letters…"
