Mavis was taken aback, quickly shaking her head.
"N-No!"
Adora giggled, covering her mouth.
"If it isn't, why are you blushing? Are you being shy?"
Caught off guard by Adora's blunt observation, Mavis lowered her head even further, choosing not to respond.
Anyone with keen eyes could easily guess whether Mavis had feelings for Nathaniel.
Not to mention Nathaniel himself…
After considering it, Nathaniel asked Adora, "Adora, do you like Mae?"
Adora nodded, playfully saying, "Yes! Mae is really nice to me. I don't mind having Mae as my godmother!"
"G-Godmother?"
Mavis had not even considered that possibility.
Adora's sudden comment made her nervous, and her eyelashes fluttered as she blinked her eyes in disbelief.
Meanwhile, Nathaniel was observing her.
Though he had frequently seen Mavis at the aquarium over the years, Nathaniel had never really examined her face closely.
Taking a serious look, he realized that while she might not be stunning at first glance, she was definitely attractive.
Her features were well-defined, with exotic blonde hair and blue eyes, fair skin, and a tall, slender figure.
Even though she was wearing a simple black server's apron, she did not fail to catch one's eye.
Mavis's cheeks flushed from shyness, and she occasionally tucked her strands of hair behind her ears, adding a subtle allure and sultriness to her demeanor.
Nathaniel's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Mavis.
Then, he glanced at Adora sitting beside him, secretly forming a plan.
"Ms. Olsen, although I'm not sure if the man you've been searching for all these years is me, I've met you in Harbor City in the past, right?"
Mavis remained silent.
He continued, "I've been on dates recently, as you know."
Mavis's head drooped even lower. "Yes, I know."
"Are you interested in me?"
Nathaniel's blue eyes concealed his little scheme as he smiled politely, like a true gentleman.
In the private dining room booked by Cassie earlier, Nathaniel and Adora had not touched a single dish.
After chatting for a while, Adora got hungry.
So, Nathaniel decided to order some food and invited Mavis to join them, considering it their first date.
The atmosphere during their meal was delightful.
Adora did not seem to realize she was acting as a third wheel, playfully asking Nathaniel to feed her.
Once lunch was over, Mavis escorted Adora and Nathaniel to the hotel's entrance.
After all, she was actually still on her shift as a server.
Before leaving, Nathaniel spoke with seriousness, "Both Adora and I are used to having you manage the aquarium. If you're uncomfortable working here as a server, feel free to return anytime. The aquarium will always welcome you."
"Thank you, Mr. Nicholls."
Nathaniel pursed his lips. "Still calling me Mr. Nicholls?"
It dawned on Mavis, and she mumbled, "Oh, then…"
